Dang Good Carpet And Furnace Cleaning (DGCFC) started in 2015. They registered in BBB a year after.

Although they have been operating for only a few years, the company is already a member and certified by trusted home cleaning organisations in Canada. Among them are the Institute of Inspection and Indoor Air Quality Association.

Aside from upholstery cleaning, they also tend to carpets, furnaces, and windows while providing sanitation services for houses.

We are glad that their standard offer for upholstery cleaning is $199, which is within the average price in Calgary. Surprisingly, this offer is not only for one piece of furniture but for one 3-seater sofa and an armchair – great value for money, indeed!

We also love their transparent pricing and the tips to avoid possible additional fees. This way, clients will not be surprised with the final billing.

But in all fairness to them, they do also advise clients to vacuum their upholstery ahead to avoid situations like this.

They also offer discounts on every cleaning service they provide. For instance, cleaning a queen mattress (which usually costs $100) is free if a client spends a minimum of $199.99 in services.

To secure clients’ confidence, DGCFC uses vital oxide for upholstery cleaning. It is eco-friendly and non-harmful to fabrics, people, and animals.

Our only issue with them is their customer services. Apparently, there are reports of clients not receiving a return voicemail or email from the company due to the high volume of customers.

That said, we do not recommend them for urgent or emergency upholstery cleaning. We advise you to consider other options on our list.

Calgary Chem-Dry has been in the cleaning service for thirty-three years. In 2010, BBB granted them accreditation.

The company does upholstery, carpet, and area rug cleaning services. 

We think that their fees are one of the more affordable ones in the market. The rate for cleaning one sofa and loveseat is $149, which is quite near the lowest average cleaning price in Calgary of $119.

One of their noteworthy services is specialty stain removal (for food stains, blood, pet accidents, etc.) and leather repair and cleaning services. Both of these are perfect for leaving upholstery spotless.

For people who want to avail their cleaning packages, the company has three types: Basic, Stain Fighter, and Premium. We want to highlight Stain Fighter because it includes two of their standout features: HCE extraction and the use of a protectant.

HCE removes the common allergens from house pets and dust mites. Meanwhile, the protectant reduces the absorption of spill and stain. 

Both of them extend the cleanliness of the fabrics.

To add confidence in their services, we found that their cleaning substances are eco-friendly and non-toxic.

We also like that they offer seasonal promos, such as 15% off for any cleaning services. This will certainly appeal to clients on strict budgets and want to make the most out of their payments.

Just take note that there are times when cleaners aren’t as punctual as they should be. In fact, we’ve heard stories of cleaners arriving hours late for appointments, thus inconveniencing clients.

Some customers also reported minor issues like reappearing stains on fabrics (excluding those that have been on the fabric for years – this can be difficult to remove) a few days after the work. 

Commendably, the company promptly responded to these reports by sending another worker to fix it.

Established in 1976, Alberta Carpet Cleaning has been in service for almost fifty years. BBB accredited the company in 1985.

With their years of service, we are not surprised to discover that they received the Calgary Readers Choice Award in 2020.

As a cleaning service provider, the company accepts carpets, area rugs, furnaces, and upholstery for cleaning.

Among others, their upholstery standard fee of $79 (for a single/double mattress) is the most affordable we have seen for a starter package. Even if they add the $21.45 GST and waste handling fee, theirs is still the lowest.

We are impressed that the upholstery they handle undergoes an ultra-thorough cleaning process. The cleaning stage consists of pre-cleaning treatment, deep cleaning and fast drying, and meticulous hand-grooming.

We also love that they have well-organised FAQs on their website regarding carpet cleaning and upholstery, which will prove informative for their customers.

They use a cleaning substance by Mediclean, which is environment-friendly and safe for pets and family.

Previous clients were happy with how friendly and quick the cleaners are, finishing the job in less than two hours. Clients also love that the cleaners explain the dos and don’ts of maintaining upholstery.

But there were cases wherein clients received late notice of reappointment from the cleaners. Although the company offers discounts for to compensate for such cases, it is still something to bear in mind.

In addition, there were several instances where cleaners had to revisit and redo their work because of reappearing stains or other workmanship-related issues.

Ram Cleaning Services has been in business for an impressive 53 years. In 1981, BBB accredited their business.

Compared to other cleaners, Ram has the most to offer. Aside from the usual services from other companies, they also offer cleaning for blinds, draperies, tiles and grouts, and home restoration from floods.

We immediately love how the upholstery cleaning fees and additionals for every piece of furniture are easily accessible. 

We also like that their fees are affordable. For example, their sofa & chair cleaning is only $159, which is not far from what other budget-friendly companies offer.

Their workers are not only trained and certified but also took technical courses from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for upskilling. We love that they take extra steps to ensure that their workers are well-equipped for their job.

Previous clients loved the responsiveness of the office clerk and their patience in answering any query. In addition, clients also liked that workers often shared maintenance tips with them while working.

We did hear about rare cases of household items that were damaged after their cleaners’ service. Clients who reported those incidents mentioned that they haven’t received a return call from RAM as of writing.

In addition, we heard of cases when their post-cleaning service needs improvement on responsiveness. One client shared that they had to wait a month and a half just for the company to fix an issue they reported.

While we recognise that no company is perfect, we hope that they apply a sense of urgency in addressing these issues.

SteamDry Canada has been operating for 19 years. BBB recognised the company in 2003.

Compared to other companies, we found that they have a broader range of complementary services. Aside from upholstery and other cleaning services, they offer water tank installation, humidifier service, and junk removal.

They are also open daily, which means that they can accommodate more clients who can only make time on weekends.

We appreciate their effort to make payments more bearable, as they offer a 12-month 0% interest payment plan for clients who may not have the budget to pay upfront.

They are also upfront with fees and quotations. They don’t have any hidden charges, which is reassuring for clients.

We are glad that they mainly use steam cleaning for their upholstery services. It is not just effective in removing stains and dirt in all layers, but great at killing microbes and insects inside the fabrics.

Former clients commend the punctuality, friendliness, and expertise of the cleaners. Aside from providing tips on maintaining upholstery, they love how efficient and quick they are at removing days-old pet stains.

However, do note that their fees are slightly higher than what the other companies offer. For instance, their upholstery service for a sofa and love chair costs $198.

Also, unlike other companies, they do not have a list of fees for each type upholstery service they provide, which is a bit of a downer.
