Dr. Ashkan Mobini, at Toronto Oral & Facial Surgery, caught our attention due to his unorthodox educational background. He initially obtained a degree in Computer Engineering before graduating with the highest honours from NYU in dentistry.

Today, he’s one of the most esteemed oral surgeons in Toronto, as shared by his patients, whom we interviewed. For starters, they highlighted the Doctor’s patience in explaining their cases thoroughly and even providing possible outcomes during the consultation.

Patients have also praised Dr. Mobini for his and the team’s reassuring attitude throughout the procedures

Speaking of, we were also impressed by the Doctor’s wide range of services, ranging from wisdom tooth extraction to dental implants, and even bone grafting.

The clinic itself is world-class as well, featuring the latest technology such as their Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scanner for accurate 3D images. We also appreciate the comfortable waiting and recovery areas.

The only downside is that it’s slightly away from Downtown Toronto. Fortunately, it’s located right by the bus station.

The main thing that piqued our attention about Dr. Adam Kaplan and Toronto East Maxillofacial Surgery is their wide array of dental and facial procedures—these range from simple tooth removals to severe dental infection treatments, etc.

One service that stood out to us was the TMJ/TMD treatment because oral surgeons do not often offer it. As someone who has a partner who grinds their teeth in their sleep, their medications, night guards, and surgical treatments were nice to see.

Another factor that cemented our confidence in Dr. Kaplan was his expertise and finesse. We reached out to several parents who chose the Doctor as their child’s surgeon, and they told us how seamless the procedures were.

We also appreciate how well-maintained the facilities of their clinics are. Plus, we heard from previous patients that waiting was a breeze because of the comfy receiving area of the clinic.

The only thing they could improve is the responsiveness of their online booking system.

Implant Surgical Care is conveniently located next to the subway station, making it one of the most accessible options in the city. Plus, it’s located on a somewhat busy street, lined with cafes and restaurants where patients can wind down while waiting for their appointment.

However, we were still impressed to discover how comfy they’ve made their waiting area when we interviewed their previous patients. Furthermore, they highlighted the maintenance of the overall office/clinic and its complete equipment for its various procedures.

Dr. Lesley David was also brought up multiple times during our interviews, more particularly with his personable attitude and reassuring approach to his procedures. A handful of our interviewees told us how they immediately felt comfortable when they met Dr. David.

We also wanted to commend the rest of the staff members, as we heard nothing but praise regarding their hospitality.

The only red flag we heard from some patients was that their booking was seemingly missing when they arrived at the clinic. Furthermore, we wish they would implement an online booking system as opposed to only having a phone line.

Dr. Maria Franco Echevarría is one of the oral surgeons in Crescent Oral Surgery, but we could easily pick anyone from their team. From what we can gather from our interviews, these medical professionals are experts at what they do and extremely personable.

A major factor that was brought up during our interviews was Dr. Echevarría’s patience in explaining every single detail of the patient’s case, as well as what treatments were needed. They even noted how her reassuring voice helped them calm down before the procedure.

Their procedures and treatments are quite varied as well. For instance, they offer different options for anesthesia alone, such as laughing gas, local, general, and IV sedation.

We also reached out to patients who had dental implants courtesy of Dr. Echevarría, and they praised the quality of her work. They told us how their facial features improved and that the implants themselves were long-lasting.

One thing they could improve, however, is the waiting area, as it’s a bit cramped for our liking.

So kind and professional

“I had a consultation at the Richmond Hill location and went to do three wisdom teeth extractions with Dr. Mousavifar at the Scarborough location. The entire team was so kind and professional; the whole procedure was so quick, and a week after my appointment, 

I am 90% healed with little to no pain without taking Tylenol, and all swelling has gone down tremendously. 

I recommend this office to anyone needing teeth extractions, as I have done a wisdom tooth extraction a couple of years prior at a different office, and their knowledge and skills cannot compare to those of anyone in this office. 

The time it took Dr. Mousavifar to take out three teeth under sedation; it took the other doctor over an hour to extract one without sedation(without being offered it either), bruising and semi-scaring my mouth in the process!

Another thing that stood out to us about Dr. Ghorbani is his treatments beyond the usual oral surgeries. For instance, he offers sleep apnea treatment, where he combines lifestyle changes with oral appliances and surgery to help patients improve their sleep.

We also interviewed those who underwent TMJ treatments with My Smile, and they told us how they felt immediate relief afterwards.

However, we wish that they could add more services under their belt, like oral pathology, jaw surgery, bone grafting, etc.
