Nuraney Law Group has operated since 2016 in Vancouver, serving the Lower Mainland. Their accessibility is one of the reasons we picked them, but it’s mainly because of their track record and client support.
These guys have an experienced team focusing on tax law (it’s one of their main practice areas, actually). They handle tax issues for individuals, corporate professionals, and small businesses, although they’re not equipped for large companies.
Nonetheless, Nuraney Law Group’s specialisation is still extensive. They handle legal tax preparation, due diligence, buyout transactions, and more, allowing them to work on many things, and this is helpful if you’re an entrepreneur.
They’re a boutique law firm, so despite being small, you’ll receive a more personalised service—awesome! From what we’ve seen, they know how to form a good professional relationship with clients by always answering questions and being personable.
Lastly, they offer free consultations and are also accessible, with two offices in downtown and West Vancouver.
Top-notch work
“Arif and his team are great. As an accountant I ordinarily receive a lot of requests for legal referrals and i often refer them to Arif and the team at Nuraney Law. Their work is top notch and they provide that one stop shop so it makes it easy for me to send them their way as I know that if there are multiple concerns on a single client’s issue, it can be dealt with by the same team.”

Personable and timely
“Arif offers a broad range of services that have assisted me in setting up my own consulting company, as well as offering advice on a variety of other factors. He is personable and timely and I have already recommended him to several friends and colleagues who report a similar level of satisfaction.”

We like Liang Tax Lawyers because all their attention is on tax law. They’re a boutique law firm, which has lots of advantages, especially for individuals.
Their lawyers can give you more personalised attention since they’re not a big law firm. Frankly, the good communication skills we’ve seen they’ve consistently provided have been impressive.
When it comes to their practice areas, they’re solid! Their tax lawyers are experienced in all tax-related business planning and in minimising tax in wealth preservation.
Their clientele is pretty vast, too. They work with individuals and corporations despite having a small team, which can, unfortunately, be a downside when they’re super busy.
But their availability is not that big of a problem in our books. Their firm is conveniently located downtown, and clients have praised their responsiveness (in calls and emails).
We also think they’re reliable, price-wise. Compared to other tax law firms in the area, their rates are in the mid-range, making them accessible to different kinds of budgets!
Super patient and provided excellent feedback
“I hired Sam from Liang Lawyers to help with my tax planning, trust planning and estate planning. He was super patient with answering all my questions and providing excellent feedback on how my trust should be set up. I was slow to get things back to Sam but his patience in helping customers is rare. Greatly appreciate the help and would happily recommend friends and family to contact Sam for Estate Planning Needs.”

We love a not-so-expensive law firm, which is exactly what Westcoast Wills & Estates is. They’re accessible to Vancouverites of all budgets, and that means their fees are reasonable.
They practice various areas, including tax law and estate planning. What we love is that they work with individuals and company owners, making them accessible to many.
Plus, we like their extensive areas of expertise, as they work on cases involving estate freezes, family trusts, and post-mortem tax planning. They’re also easy to reach from anywhere in Vancouver since they have three offices!
However, despite having a team of nine lawyers, Westcoast Wills & Estates only has one lawyer who specialises in tax law. Still, we appreciate that this doesn’t affect their responsiveness.
From our observations, their staff and lawyers have always kept clients updated. Clients loved that they were always prepared, which just shows how ready they are in any situation.
Professional, thorough, and very approachable
“I had a great experience with West Coast Wills & Estates. Mike was professional, thorough, and very approachable. He took the time to explain my situation clearly and offered practical, thoughtful advice. I appreciated his focus on finding solutions that made sense for my needs. Overall, I felt well-supported and would recommend his services to others seeking guidance in estate-related matters.”

Gave the most wonderful advice
“I had some need of legal advice that was quite complicated. Mike Beishuizen took the time to call me and gave me the most wonderful advice. I will not hesitate to call Westcoast Wills & Estates and Mike in the future. I happen to tell a few people about my experience today and they wholeheartedly agreed that this is a great company with wonderful people. THANKS AGAIN!”

The experience of Ambleside Law LLP in BC’s tax law is impressive. They were established in 1993, giving them lots of knowledge in various tax planning cases, big or small.
The tailored services are also worth noting, allowing them to address every client’s needs. This, in turn, results in a more successful client-lawyer relationship, which we observed during our client surveys.
While Ambleside Law don’t solely specialise in tax law, they still have an experienced team who can work with you or your accountant for simple or complex cases. They’re also knowledgeable in minimising taxes as much as legally possible.
When it comes to accessibility, they’re winners! These guys offer services in English, Italian, and Farsi.
Plus, their lawyers offer a free lawyer referral and pro bono services to BC residents who need legal help. For us, it shows their genuine care for the community.
We didn’t have problems with their staff, either. They were nice and responsive to our queries.
Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares
“I had an excellent experience working with Ron Nairne and his team. He is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his clients. I highly recommend Ron to anyone looking for a dedicated and trustworthy lawyer.”
Smart, eloquent, and professional
“Ron Nairne is a fantastic lawyer and I can’t recommend him enough. He really listens to you. He figures out exactly what your legal issues are and how best to tell your story to ensure that you receive the compensation that you deserve. He’s smart, he’s eloquent, he’s respected, he’s a professional and you can’t ask for a better lawyer fighting on your side. Would trust him to represent my mother. FIVE STARS!”

Another Vancouver law firm that caught our attention is Thorsteinssons LLP, which is the largest in Canada. What’s even more noteworthy is that it exclusively practices taxation law—an incredible feat which also makes them very accessible!
They practice in many areas of tax law, such as tax litigation, planning, sales tax, international trade, and more. All these also allow them to work on more than one case per client, since most of their services go hand in hand.
And yes, their size means they can cater to many clients, from individuals to multinational corporations!
Plus, they have a long list of lawyers, so there’s no need to wait until one becomes available. However, their credentials mean they’re not cheap, so be ready when that bill arrives.
On the upside, we found their tax lawyers easy to talk with. Despite being a big tax law firm, we were surprised that they managed to provide a personable approach.
Super knowledgeable and highly organised
“Thorsteinssons is THE pre-eminent tax law firm because of partners like Rick Wong. He helped our family with transfer of property from family to company. He is super knowledgeable, highly organized and hands down the most impressive lawyer we have ever had the good fortune to work with. Rick Wong is simply ACE!”

The bill was well worth it
“Rosemary Anderson is amazing help with PST and GST issues. We hired her to be an expert witness in a case in small claims court and she blew the other sides expert out of the water and knew her stuff. The judge was very impressed with her as well. Not going to lie the bill was expensive….but WELL WORTH IT to get this issue resolved. Hire this company and this lady if you are a contractor needing specialized help in PST and GST issues.”
