Pros

  • Provides a thorough consultation
  • Specializes in breast surgery
  • Makes a surgical plan based on the body
  • Known for caring approach

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Limited practice areas

What impressed us about Dr. Lisa Korus is her specialization in breast surgeries. In fact, her surgical practice entirely focuses on breast surgeries!

Overall, Dr. Lisa Korus’s experience is impressive. She works at the University of Alberta’s plastic surgery division and the Grey Nuns Hospital.

Additionally, her extensive training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery helped with her work in breast surgery. We find this extremely useful in the plastic surgery industry.

One of the factors she considers before the patient undergoes plastic surgery is to evaluate the body thoroughly. As a result, she can make a surgical plan that will look best based on the patient’s body.

One of her services that our team appreciated is implant-based breast reconstruction. It’s a less complicated type of surgery and usually has a reduced recovery time.

As for the consultation, the patients we surveyed said they felt comfortable because Dr. Korus was engaging and informative. That’s despite being nervous knowing what surgery they needed to do!

For us, her approach speaks about her professionalism. The fact that she could make her patients feel at ease despite undergoing invasive surgery is admirable.

But since Dr. Korus specializes in breast surgery, her clinic offers limited plastic surgery options. So, people needing other types of surgeries need to look elsewhere.

The clinic is closed on weekends, unfortunately. So, that adds a couple of days for the patients needing time off from work.

Pros

  • PWD friendly facility
  • Performs many types of plastic surgeries
  • All medical staff are ACLS-certified
  • Have many surgeons with their own specializations

Cons

  • Unavailable on weekends
  • Plastic surgeons have different office locations

The main thing we liked about Meadowlark Surgical Centre & Cosmetic Clinic is its large facility. Our team found this aspect convenient because it can accept more clients and do more surgeries.

Upon checking the clinic, we appreciated seeing the area is inclusive. There are parking spots in front of the clinic for persons with disabilities, and it’s wheelchair-accessible.

Plastic surgery isn’t just for cosmetics, so these are important things for our team.

Notably, one of the things the clinic is proud of is that all plastic surgeons are members of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Additionally, all nurses and medical staff are ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certified. This is a highly useful skill for emergency responses.

Apart from those things,Meadowlark offers many types of plastic surgeries. It has surgeons for invasive and non-invasive surgeries like facelifts, rhinoplasty, and craniofacial surgery.

Furthermore, there are multiple plastic surgeons with their own specializations. Even Dr. Lisa Korus (her own clinic is on our list) practices here, too.

Our main concern is that each Meadowlark plastic surgeon has a different office. Honestly, we were confused about this at first because they weren’t actually in the clinic.

Consequently, this means people need to call each surgeon’s office to check their specializations. Again, this can confuse some patients.

Also, Meadowlark is unavailable on weekends for phone calls. Add to that the surgeons have different office hours that aren’t available on the website, some may find it difficult to contact them.

Pros

  • Offers a wide range of plastic surgeries
  • Can treat skin cancers
  • Known for positive attitude
  • Staff provided good aftercare service

Cons

  • Office closes early
  • Unavailable on weekends

Our team looked for plastic surgery clinics in Edmonton that offers reconstructive surgery aside from cosmetics. And that’s exactly why we included Dr. Moein Momtazi’s practice.

We found it impressive that Dr. Momtazi has many specializations. He does liposuction, breast surgeries, and cancer reconstruction surgeries.

Furthermore, we think it’s noteworthy that he can diagnose and treat skin cancers. Not all surgeons have the expertise to do this, so this a plus in our books!

Dr Momtazi also does lymphovenous bypass surgery, an innovative treatment for fluid build-up in arms or legs. Not all plastic surgeons in Edmonton have the training to do this, and we’re glad his practice does this for patients with Lymphedema.

We spoke with some of his past patients, and many appreciated his positive and bright attitude. Some even felt comfortable because of this, which we found helpful for nervous patients.

We also noticed that Dr. Momtazi and his staff were helpful and provided good aftercare service to their patients. He was a good communicator as well, which helped his patients understand the surgery process and risks.

A minor drawback we found is his office is closed on weekends, meaning patients need to take time off from work for the initial consultation.

Another one is his office closes a tad earlier than other plastic surgery clinics in Edmonton. So, taking a day off is definitely needed if you’d like to have a consultation with Dr. Momtazi.

Pros

  • Practices in various hospitals
  • Had an extensive surgery training
  • Has many specializations
  • Known for gentle and caring attitude

Cons

  • Doesn’t entertain inquiries on weekends
  • Limited body surgeries available

Our team was quite impressed with Dr. James Wolfli’s training and background. After graduating from the University of Calgary, he decided to train more in Georgia, USA, then moved to Belgium.

After this, he finally decided to settle his practice in Edmonton. Impressively, Dr. Wolfli performs surgeries at the Misericordia Community Hospital, Grey Nuns Community Hospital, and the University of Alberta Hospitals.

His vast availability in various location is a plus for us as it allows his patients from all over Edmonton to get the plastic surgery they need at a convenient location. But it’s important to note that he performs certain surgeries at specific hospitals.

As for Dr. Wolfli’s specializations, we were glad that he performs various facial and breast surgeries. This includes upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty and breast reconstruction.

Apart from that, we noted that he’s also adept at doing tummy tucks. However, we noticed that he performs limited body plastic surgeries.

The patients we conversed with mentioned Dr. Wolfli’s caring and gentle attitude. For us, this shows his professional attitude while showing compassion for his patients (who were probably nervous about the surgery).

In addition, we’re happy to find out that his past patients liked their results. For us, the informative approach definitely helped the patients have realistic expectations about their surgeries.

However, Dr. Wolfli’s office doesn’t entertain inquiries on weekends. Some people work on weekdays, meaning they must have at least a half day from work for the consultation.

Pros

  • Has a vast background in plastic surgery
  • Performs many procedures
  • Specializes in mommy makeovers
  • Have shown great results

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Some issues with staff communication

We decided to include the practice of Dr. Feng Chong on this list because of his vast background in the industry. When he was still a student, he received the prestigious HH Hepburn Award, given to students most likely to succeed as a surgeon.

He proved them right! Currently, he’s the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Alberta Health Centre, on top of practicing at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Alberta Surgical Centre, and the Grey Nuns Hospital.

It’s safe to say that his background impressed our team. He also specializes in various facial, body, and breast procedures.

One of Dr. Chong’s famous procedures in Edmonton is the mommy makeover. Impressively, the media has recognized him a bunch of times for his work.

Furthermore, we appreciate that it helps restore a woman’s body after the effects of giving birth and breastfeeding. He’s had many patients who underwent this surgery, and they loved the results.

Some mommies even mentioned that Dr. Chong helped them regain their confidence due to the excellent results. For us, this highly speaks about his expertise in plastic surgery.

On the downside, we believe the staff can improve communication with clients. Some people weren’t allowed surgery due to certain restrictions, but they failed to inform them why.

As a result, those patients were confused and thought the clinic shunned them. Frankly, this is a minor issue that they could have handled better.

Also, the clinic is closed on weekends. Due to this limitation, our team learned that getting an appointment can be challenging because Dr. Chong gets many patients.
