However, their reliability isn’t perfect since they’re closed on weekends. It’s no biggie, as these guys step up during HVAC breakdowns, since most clients we spoke to praised their efficiency and professionalism, from quotations to follow-ups.

The main limitation we found is their schedule, as they’re closed on weekends. Furthermore, their 24/7 emergency service is dedicated only to heating and is restricted to the crucial months between fall and spring.

Despite this specific limitation on emergency cooling, their professionalism and comprehensive skill set make them a top choice!

Good Air Ventilation Systems has received high scores from our staff, and it was pretty obvious why. They’re more than just about heating and cooling, as they specialise in indoor air quality solutions that combine energy efficiency and ventilation.

Their services include installation, repair, and maintenance of heat pumps, air exchangers, bathroom fans, and rooftop units. All these make them accessible for big and small jobs, except on weekends.

They’re also authorised dealers of Venmar AVS and Fujitsu heat pumps, which is impressive in its own right, but also for the extended warranties. They carry other major brands as well, including models eligible for the Canada Greener Homes grants.

Except for a few reports of miscommunication, particularly about quotations and appointments, the overall service we’ve witnessed has been smooth.

The repairs and installations we’ve seen have been of good quality. They were efficient but didn’t rush the job just to get it done—no cutting corners, but only thorough services.

“The process to set up an appointment to have the duct work cleaned was very easy. It started with completing the request form on the website. Emily then contacted us via email, answered all my questions in a timely fashion and set up an appointment. A Halifax HVAC service that has everything under one roof? Greenfoot Energy Solutions has it all, from installation to maintenance to free home energy makeovers for families in need.

The brands they carry and work on are also impressive, including major brands like LG and Daikin, and some that aren’t always available in stores.

When we talk about experience, they’re solid, given that installations are carried out by Red Seal-certified technicians and journeyman electricians. The fact that they can perform safe control testing, as they have electricians, is impressive.

They’re not the best in availability, unfortunately. During our surveys, we found that, aside from no weekend jobs, there were some scheduling issues, which led to delays and changes in plans.

But we appreciate that they addressed these issues. It’s the quality of the service that made us include them, since they knew how to provide solutions for installations and repairs, all with total respect for the property and competitive pricing.

Heating and cooling problems, no matter the season, aren’t an issue with Shines Energy. That’s because of their 24/7 hotline, which is always at the ready for emergencies and appointment scheduling, including holidays.

Their services are very comprehensive, as they also cover plumbing and sewer systems. Of course, that includes installations, repairs, and maintenance of various heating and cooling systems.

Their maintenance plans are worth checking out, which come with a lot of perks, including annual tune-ups, free inspections, priority status for appointments, and discounts.

We were pleased with the overall service, although it was sometimes hit or miss. Don’t get us wrong, they have certified technicians who understand exactly what needs to be done, but the late arrivals and cancelled appointments were a pain for busy clients.

Their rates aren’t the most affordable, but they offer promotions every so often for discounts and buy now, pay later options. The upfront pricing helps a lot to avoid surprises.
