Pros
- Offers in-person and virtual classes
- Offers customized programs
- Prices within the reasonable range
Cons
- No dedicated training facility
What we like about For the Love of Paws Pet Service, or FLOPPS, is their experience and commitment to the field. The company was founded by Joanna in 2011, who has first-hand experience with a dog with behavioural challenges.
Since then, she has trained her dog and has earned many certifications to professionally train other pups. We really admire her dedication—a dog trainer quality that earns our trust.
We also like the flexible approach of FLOPPS because they can work with busy clients. It’s convenient how they offer in-person and virtual group classes, which not all dog trainers do.
Additionally, we appreciate that they have customized programs for dogs with specific behaviour problems, like growling, lunging, and pulling. It’s a plus that they work on dogs of all ages.
However, we were disappointed to find that FLOPPS doesn’t have their own training facility, which we think is a drawback. Currently, private dog training is done at other facilities.
Still, we appreciate that the dog training sessions are done in a well-maintained space, considering one facility is a doggy daycare. That’s one of the most important parts because it ensures a safe environment for furry animals.
Price-wise, we think their rates are within the reasonable range. A 6-week virtual puppy class is $247 plus GST.

Pros
- Offers in-studio and in-home sessions
- Accepts international clients
- Travels outside of Edmonton
- Uses force-free training
- Has customized packages
Cons
- Expensive rates
- No free consultations
Naughty Boyz Dog Training is one of our picks in Edmonton because of their experience, helping over 4,000 families since they first opened their doors.
We’re impressed to see that they’ve worked on dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments!
Also, it’s incredible that their skills have not only reached Edmonton but also other provinces and countries. It’s even more impressive that they’ve worked with many athletes and their dogs.
Another aspect we appreciate is that their services are available in-person and in-studio, making them a convenient and accessible dog training service.
Their instructors will travel to the owner’s home for the training, even if it’s outside Edmonton, for an additional fee.
Additionally, we like their use of force-free training. The good thing about this is they only use positive reinforcement and never use intimidation in training.
It’s also a plus that Naughty Boyz Dog Training offers customized packages. We found that really helpful when dealing with dogs with severe behavioural problems.
Another plus in our books is their 30-minute phone consultations for clients who aren’t sure what service to get. But the downside is it comes with a fee of $35 plus GST.
Also, it’s worth noting that a three-session in-studio package is a whopping $425 plus GST.
Naughty Boyz Dog Training is a wonderful service overall, but their services come with a hefty price tag.

Pros
- Uses science-based methods
- Available for in-person and virtual sessions
- Visits the owner’s home
- Provides a thorough consultation
Cons
- No dedicated facility
- Consultation fee is expensive
Using science-based methods in dog training is something we approve of, which is why we included MUTTLIFE on our list. We also love that the founder, Alecia, has more than a decade of experience working with dogs of all ages.
Furthermore, we admire her for earning various certifications to hone her skills in dog training. Plus, it’s nice that she’s always updated with the latest methods to ensure effective and efficient training.
MUTTLIFE is available for in-person or virtual dog training. It’s really helpful for Edmontonians because they won’t have to worry too much about their schedules.
For in-person sessions, Alecia will train the dog in the owner’s home or in other places in the community. While we think this helps with the dog’s social skills, there’s still a downside.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t have a dedicated training facility. For us, working in a closed environment can help keep the dogs focused, and it’s a safer environment because it’s a closed space.
Nevertheless, we appreciate that Alecia has proven she’s a capable dog trainer in Edmonton because she has worked with all sorts of pups, even huge, challenging ones.
What’s even better is that despite not having a facility, she has addressed many behavioural issues.
But keep in mind that there’s a $175 plus GST fee for a consultation, which is pretty steep. The good news is this is thorough because it already includes making strategies for the dog’s training plan.

Pros
- Travels to the client’s location
- Offers a wide variety of programs
- Caters to Greater Edmonton
- Provides puppy parties for socialization
Cons
- Gets fully booked fast
- Pricier fees
We think Good Boy Dog Training stands out among the other dog training centers in Edmonton because of their accessibility. They’re open every day, which is really useful for busy dog owners.
On top of that, we really like that they travel throughout the city for in-person private training. Plus, they cater to clients in Greater Edmonton, which means there’s no need to travel far and wide for dog training.
Good Boy Dog Training also has a variety of services that cater to different temperaments, from manners to aggression. As a result, many clients can hire their services.
On the downside, we noticed their services get fully booked pretty fast. It’s a little issue, though, because it also means many people trust their service—it kind of speaks about their service quality and expertise, no?
Now, let’s go back to their offerings. A standout service is their day training, in which the instructor will pick up the dogs and train them for a set time, depending on the package.
Additionally, we like their group classes, which include many packages for different ages. An adorable but important program is Puppy Party, which gives pups a way to socialize and meet furry friends with guidance from experienced trainers.
Although Good Boy Dog Training is a convenient service, it does come with pricier fees. A 3-hour private training course is $360, which is more expensive than others.
