Top 10 dog-friendly places in Calgary that earned wags of approval from our pups!
If there’s one thing dog lovers can agree on, it’s the fact that we can’t bring our dogs everywhere. Even the cutest and smallest pups get banned in some places—Tesla had to create a Dog Mode for when we do errands.
So, I decided to note all the dog-friendly places my little buddy can go to—restaurants, pubs, cafes, you name it. And I’m sharing these with you now because you know what my furry friend loves? Making new friends!

If you’re looking for the ultimate dog-friendly place in Calgary, Four Dogs Brewing Company marks the dot! Its name is even inspired by the owner’s 4 rescue dogs, who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge within a span of 4 months.
Now, they make sure all dogs are welcome inside and there are doggie snacks on the menu. There’s a little dog-friendly outdoor area, but what’s cool is our four-legged friends are allowed inside the taproom—yup, like, actually inside!
There are dog beds and treats available in the taproom—and there’s a special “beer” for dogs. If you sit by the bar, there’s even a rectangular seating under it for your pup to lie down in and watch the humans drink and chat.
Pro Tip:
Before dining inside, make sure your dog is well-behaved, or you may be asked to leave. Also, remember to always ask the dog owner before approaching their dog (you need to get both human and dog approval first).

If you’re looking for a casual spot, The Dog & Duck Public House and Restaurant is the place to bring your pup. The best part? There’s a grassy area on the patio for your dog to roll around in.
The dog-friendly patio has a backyard theme and kind of feels like being in your own garden. There are umbrellas to shade you and Fido under the summer heat.
Chicken wings, nachos, and beer always sound good for outdoor meals, and the staff will even bring a water bowl for your dog. This is a family-friendly place, too, because minors are welcome.
Pro Tip:
Look for the daily specials so you can get discounted rates on food and drinks.

You and your pooch are going to enjoy Calgary’s Vin Room, a very dog-friendly spot—the staff are dog lovers, too! You may even get to meet Dom, their Pomeranian mascot and “sommelier.”
Dogs get served a water bowl, treats, and a cushion to lie on. Meanwhile, you can choose from their delicious menu, which has a wide variety because they have a global-inspired cuisine—we suggest starting with eggplant chips with tzatziki dip.
For happy hour, the confit chicken taco is nicely paired with a glass of light white wine. Also, look out for their Pooches & Prosecco event, where you get a dog training lesson while sipping on two glasses of prosecco or wine.
Pro Tip:
Look out for sales at their Paw’Up shop and get a new slick outfit for your pooch. They also host events that support rescue organisations, so check their socials if you want to join.
The Guild

- Saturday: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Sunday: 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Price Range: $15 – $100+
The Guild is the place to drop by with your dog if you want steak and beer—but we tend to steer toward the cocktail side of the menu. The delicious Campfire Old Fashioned has a toasted marshmallow on top of the glass (totally Instagram-worthy).
The dog-friendly patio here is big (it’s one of the biggest we’ve been to), so there’s plenty of space even if you come across several pups enjoying the day here. You and your dog are also safe from the heat of the sun because the patio’s covered.
It’s a good place for people watching, too, so your pooch is sure to love that. The staff also brings out a water bowl—and maybe give Fido an extra bite of your steak?
Pro Tip:
Patio tables are on a first-come, first-served basis. So try to come by during non-peak hours if you can and maybe avoid a weekend dinner, especially on holidays.

If you’re a pizza lover, UNA wine + pizza is a must-try, with their California-style pizza that goes really well with wine. They specialise in thin crust pizza, all cooked in stone deck ovens for that extra crispy crust.
They have three locations in Calgary, all with dog-friendly patios. Go to the 17th if you want a bigger space because it has an extended patio.
They’re dog lovers as well. Pups can stay hydrated because there are water bowls and dog treats available, while humans won’t go hungry with their delicious pizza (ask for a drizzle of honey and truffle oil, as these go well with any pizza).
Pro Tip:
Don’t be shy when asking for food modifications. They accommodate allergies, have gluten-free crusts available for all flavours, and have vegan and vegetarian options.

Lougheed House is all about afternoon tea, which is perfect for special occasions or just because! There’s an outdoor dining area where guests can dine with their dogs by their side.
This is also a must-visit because it’s possibly one of the most dog-friendly places in Calgary—actually, it’s been pet-friendly for over 130 years.
After some tea, savoury bites, and dessert, you can bring your pooch for a walk at the Beaulieu Gardens, which is free and open every day. The large grassy areas are perfect for your pooch to lounge around.
Pro Tips:
You don’t have to eat at the restaurant to visit Beaulieu Gardens. You can hang out anytime for a walk with your pooch.
During Christmas time, you can bring your dog to Lougheed House for a pic with Santa.

Once the winter season ends, you can drop by Fionn MacCool’s for good food and great conversations. The patio is heated and shaded, so it’ll keep you warm all the time.
This Irish pub serves the meanest beer-battered fish and chips, but do start with tortilla chips with spinach and artichoke dip for your appetiser. You can also go for the steak cooked in Guinness gravy.
This dog-friendly spot will give you and your pup the best experience. You can listen to live music, which they have quite frequently, while drinking a nice cold glass of beer (and just water for your dog!).

You can even challenge yourself here and see if you can make it on the wall of fame only if you finish the massive Punchbowl Poutine, which has five pounds of fries, 1 pound of cheese curds, and 1 litre of gravy.
Bring your pooch, of course, as they’re welcome in the outdoor seating area. The Bowness location has a nice patio next to an old streetcar, which is a pretty sight.
Pro Tip:
If you want to contact them for special bookings, you’re going to have to fill up the online form because all of their restaurants don’t have phones.

Marda Loop Brewing has two dog-friendly outdoor seating areas, a covered patio and a not covered one. There are many tables and seats here for your pooch and friends—it doesn’t matter if they’re small or big!
This Calgary spot is always lively—you can catch trivia nights (but this one’s indoor only) and live music, all while sipping on a cold beer. The staff is super welcoming, and you can always ask for water for your dog.
Of course, this brewery is all about beer. But that doesn’t mean you can’t munch on some delicious food—try the tangy IPA BBQ chicken wings and cauliflower wings.
Pro Tip:
Due to the City of Calgary Main Street Project, some roads in the area will be congested. So, check their socials for updates on how to access their restaurant.
Citizen Brewing Company

Website: https://citizenbrewingcompany.com/
Address: 227 35 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2K5, Canada
Contact Details: (403) 474-4677, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Price Range: $8.50 – $25
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly restaurant during the cold weather, Citizen Brewing Company is the place to go. They have a heated patio to keep all guests (four-legged friends, too) warm while dining in—and they add more heaters during chilly months!
By the way, the patio is huge, so there’s more than enough space even when there are lots of doggos around. There’s always something happening here, too, so it’s a good place to meet new friends.
To fill your belly, try their Nashville chicken sandwich with Louisiana hot sauce and a side of the classic poutine. Before choosing your beer, always check which brew line is currently on the guest tap so you can try something new.
Pro Tip:
Visit Monday to Thursday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm for Happy Hour. There are a lot of discounts on food, including $9 poutine instead of $12.
