No one was surprised when Diet Redefined made it onto our list. They have a team of registered dietitians in Vancouver who specialise in various needs and conditions, such as weight loss, gut health, intuitive eating, chronic disease management, and more.
The highlight? Their meal plans are deeply connected to Vancouver’s food scene, as their suggestions will still allow you to enjoy your favourite restaurants and flavours in the city.
Plus, nutrition counselling here is backed by science and is culturally diverse, ensuring healthy eating habits without too many restrictions!
From our observations, their nutrition programs—available for individuals, couples, and groups—stick to well-researched nutrition choices to ensure long-term habits. These are NOT diet fads.
As for their process, it starts with a 20-minute complimentary session, a nice way to see if they’re a good fit. We also appreciate that they offer several tiers, which cater to different needs, goals, and budgets.
We’re just iffy that there aren’t many openings in their schedule, as their complimentary sessions don’t allow advance scheduling.
A wonderful experience
“Working with Helen from Diet Redefined was a wonderful experience. There was so much information that at first it was a bit overwhelming but, once I was able to start putting that new knowledge into action, it became second nature and changed everything. My diet has slowly become part of my daily life and I immediately started seeing changes in my daily habits, energy levels, sleep, etc. I couldn’t have been happier with my experience and am so happy that I took that step.”

Incredibly helpful and supportive
“I spent 3 months working with Helen and it was incredibly beneficial for my personal health and weight loss goals! Helen is incredibly helpful and supportive of all my pursuits and always tries to tailor her advice to my personal lifestyle and abilities. The bi-weekly check-ins with her were productive and I always came away with more knowledge about how to tackle this week’s goals. I would highly recommend Helen to help you out with any dietician-related needs or goals!”

Knowing how to promote healthy eating habits is a no-brainer for Elaine Zhang, a registered dietitian in Vancouver with a wide availability. She managed to prove that by working at various clinics, specialising in weight loss, obesity care, and more.
Her expertise doesn’t end there. She’s educated in sports nutrition, digestive health, pre and postnatal nutrition, and diabetes support.
Another thing that caught our attention is her expertise in adult and kids’ nutrition. It was incredible to see how well she can provide tailored guidance, as she doesn’t stick to generic advice, but adjusts her recommendations based on her patient’s lifestyle.
She also knows how to provide the right counselling through consistent support. Most clients we spoke with noted that Zhang made efforts to know their daily routines for more accurate nutrition plans.
Sadly, she doesn’t offer complimentary sessions, and the regular prices of her packages are slightly up there, costing $750 for the basic one. Still, her nutrition plans are extensive and come in various prices for all budgets, from $150 to over $1000 per visit.
Professional, helpful, and patient
“Elaine is very professional, helpful and patient. She helped me to build a healthy meal plan based on my life pace and original dietary habit which I can easily adapt into my meals. I enjoyed talking with her during each of my appointments. The notes Elaine prepared after the appointment is also very detailed and easy to follow. Overall, highly recommended!:)”

Listens carefully to my needs and concerns
“Elaine is very helpful, she listens carefully to my needs and concerns, provide helpful advise and food recommendations that can help and improve. Goals and habits won’t changed overnight, during the session Elaine is very positive and encourage which really helps to motivate me, she will also provide proper nutrition knowledge to help search for more healthy food while doing grocery shopping. The food recommendations and short term goal summary after each session is extremely helpful. After visiting her for only few sessions, I felt I learnt a lot and was able to reach my short term goal. Will definitely recommend her to friends and family.”

JM Nutrition makes finding a dietitian easy-peasy. Their team serves BC and other provinces and territories, making them highly accessible.
In addition, they specialise in various issues, including IBS management, thyroid issues, weight loss, heart health, diabetes, and iron deficiency. We were also thrilled to learn that they offer plant-based diet support for our vegan and vegetarian friends.
Their dietitians in Vancouver focus on counselling individuals, kids, couples, and families. The free consultation is an impressive addition as well, although it’s a bummer you won’t get to speak with the practitioner, but with the management team instead.
Nonetheless, their online and in-office appointments are flexible for every schedule. These are very thorough, achievable, and full of guidance, based on our observations.
When we looked at their rates, they’re reasonable. The single session without a meal plan only costs $135 + tax, and it’s quite comprehensive already!
Great to work with and quick to respond to messages
“We recently held 3 different nutrition classes for our employees and JM Nutrition was fantastic! Amazing presenters and presentations. Also they are great to work with and quick to respond to messages! Will highly recommend them and look forward to booking more sessions in 2026!”

The meal plan is realistic and adaptable
“It has been great working with JM Nutrition. They were quick to respond and set me up with a Dietician that has extensive knowledge in my area of concern. I have been working with Shirley over the last 6 weeks which has been fantastic! We are making progress on narrowing down my food triggers. The meal plan is realistic and adaptable. Shirley sent along some great recipes when I was feeling stuck. Great service overall! ❤️1”

The team of registered dietitians of Nutrition Well make them accessible in Vancouver. They have a practitioner for every condition!
To give you an example, they specialise in gut health, women’s health, sports nutrition, and chronic diseases, amongst other things. Basically, they can address and guide all kinds of patients, including those who speak Mandarin or Cantonese.
We also noted that patients received support based on evidence-backed assessments. Their dietitians easily provided attainable advice and meal plans with ingredients you can easily find in Vancouver.
Getting an appointment is fairly easy, too, especially with their free 10-minute discovery calls. Another thing we’re happy about is their flexible schedules, given their daily availability—probably because they have several dietitians available.
Unfortunately, their prices are a tad higher than we initially expected, with consultations starting at $225. They’re worth it, though, since their nutrition counselling has shown positive results, based on our client interactions.
Gave advice that was easy to follow
“My experience with Annie was awesome! For the first time in a while I was able to actually understand nutrition and how to eat in a way that will help me with my metabolism. She gave advice that was easy to follow and answered any questions I had!”

Had a positive and encouraging attitude
“I had a really good experience consulting with Jenni on how to improve my diet to better manage my acid reflux, hunger levels, and muscle recovery after exercising. She was very attentive and made sure to follow up on every little thing that I brought up during our initial consultation. She also had a positive and encouraging attitude which motivated me to make noticeable improvements in my eating choices and habits.”

When it comes to sports nutrition counselling, Elite Dietitians is one of the registered practitioners in Vancouver that comes to mind. It’s headed by Cristina Sutter, who has worked with various sports teams, including the Vancouver Canucks.
The comprehensive care that they provide is impressive, given that they regularly consult with physicians. Plus, they have a team of dietitians who know how physically and psychologically demanding sports can be, one of their best qualities.
But their specialization in sports nutrition is also a downside, since it limits their reach. You’ll have to check their individual practices for other nutrition counselling needs.
One of our favourite things is their programs, aimed at individuals and groups. We found these well-structured, including customized meal plans made for your fitness goals and strategy plans for athletic development.
You’ll have to join the waitlist, though. Their group coaching has limited availability and slots fill up fast, which is understandable for the meticulous program you’ll receive.
Never tried to sell expensive diet plans, simply real food
“I thought I was feeding my teen athlete appropriately until he joined the 6 weeks to gain muscle mass program. The first thing we noticed was an increase in his energy and stamina. These two factors turned out to be even more beneficial than the gain in muscle. I also appreciate that this program never tried to sell supplements or expensive diet plans; simply real foods in the right amounts at the right times. Super extra support was a bonus as well!”

Able to keep the team focused
“Hi praise for Cristina’s program which included customized meal plans delivered to our elite boys hockey team. Cristina was able to engage the team over an hour long seminar and keep them focussed and interested. We are already seeing the athletes incorporate her teachings before and after their on-ice sessions.”
