Pros

  • Offers financing options
  • Caters to a wide range of clients
  • Has an A+ BBB rating
  • Highly customizable doors
  • Focuses on energy-efficiency

Cons

  • Doesn’t do custom interior doors
  • Some customer service complaints
  • Issues about late installations

First on our list is Window Mart Windows & Doors. They have financing options available for your budgetary needs!

One of my favourite things about them is they sell Canadian-made doors. With that information, you’ll be confident that you’re getting high-quality products.

I also like that they have BBB accreditation with an A+ rating. That’s not a requirement in Edmonton, but it’s nice to know they take customer complaints seriously.

Plus, it’s impressive that they cater to a wide range of clients. Aside from Alberta, they also provide services to Ontario and Saskatchewan.

As for their products, they make custom entry and patio doors. You can also choose from different styles, like traditional, modern, or transitional.

But they don’t make custom interior doors. If that’s what you need, you may need to look elsewhere.

Furthermore, you are free to completely customize your door! There are many different kinds of hardware to choose from that will match your home.

Another positive aspect is Window Mart focuses on energy efficiency. In this day and age, we all want to do whatever to save on bills, right?

Moreover, their doors provide insulation, perfect for Alberta’s dangerously cold weather! It keeps the cold temperature from coming into your home, which can also save on energy bills.

We were also quite impressed at the level of customization you get. You can also choose the glass coverings for your door and colour!

Unfortunately, there were issues regarding customer service due to unresponsiveness and unkept promises. It was also disappointing to hear that some clients had their doors installed later than the contract date.

Pros

  • Has an A+ BBB rating
  • Services a wide range of clients
  • Has a vast door selection
  • Highly customizable
  • 25-year transferable warranty

Cons

  • No custom interior doors
  • Issues with customer service interaction
  • Complaints about window installation

If you’re looking for residential doors, you may want to check out Ecoline Windows and Doors. They cater to other cities, so you can hire them even if you’re not from Edmonton.

The BBB rating of A+ is impressive, too. In case you have a complaint, you can have the BBB as a mediator.

I highly admire that they manufacture their doors and windows in Ontario. That gives you a chance to support Canadian-made products.

As for payment, you can opt for a flexible financing plan. That’s helpful, especially if your final cost will be expensive.

They even have an online price calculator to give you a rough idea of the cost. For example, a painted single steel door with no glass will cost around $1,451.00 – $2,237.90.

Now, let’s talk about the door selection because there’s a lot! There’s steel, glass, fiberglass, traditional, modern, double front, and more! Whew!

Additionally, you can choose the colour to match your home. Not only that, but you get to choose the kind of glass for more privacy.

Moreover, we love that there are many hardware options to choose from. It’s convenient because you don’t have to worry about your door not matching your home’s exterior (*ahem* curb appeal)!

You should know that Ecoline doesn’t do custom interior doors. They mainly focus on exterior ones, so that’s something to think about.

Another favourite aspect of mine is Ecoline’s warranty. It runs for 25 years and is transferable at any time – nice!

But I think they can improve customer service interaction. It was saddening to hear about negative experiences talking with their service department.

Although I like their door services, there were complaints about improper window installation. That’s another disappointing aspect since they have window services, too.

Pros

  • Specialises in doors
  • Wide range of interior doors
  • Highly customizable
  • Products are made for Edmonton weather

Cons

  • No exterior doors
  • Issues about late arrival and installation

Hallmark Doors Ltd has been serving Edmonton for over 40 years. Frankly, those years of experience are impressive.

They specialise in doors, no windows this time! They also fabricate many of their doors in Edmonton, and we love supporting the local community.

One of the things we like is you can be confident about the custom door’s durability. Since they customize doors in Edmonton, they adapt their services to the city’s weather.

Considering Hallmark Doors is family owned and operated, you can feel at ease knowing that there are no extra middleman fees. That’s because the team manufactures their own doors in Edmonton.

Now, I think you’ll be happy with the level of customization (I am!). Their custom doors are available in any style, size, and finish!

But you should know that Hallmark Doors doesn’t do exterior doors. But they offer different kinds of interior doors, and we like how sturdy they are!

You can even have a custom closet door for extra flair when changing your outfit. But my favourite has got to be the barn doors because they feel and look premium!

On the downside, there were some late door arrival and installation issues. That was surprising since their custom doors are manufactured in Edmonton.

On a positive note, the Hallmark Doors team responds to clients about these issues. I admire that they try to handle these complaints immediately.

Pros

  • Consumer Choice Award winner
  • Has a showroom
  • Offers a vast selection
  • Products are made for Edmonton weather

Cons

  • No interior doors available
  • Complaints about customer service
  • Issues with improper installation

What’s so good about GreenFox Windows & Doors that we decided to include them on our list? Well, they’re a recognized company in Edmonton.

Need proof? The Consumer Choice Award chose them as 2022’s best windows and doors companies in Edmonton and Northern Alberta!

I also like that they have a showroom in Edmonton. That’s useful so you can check the quality of their products before buying.

The showroom has a huge selection of doors with different styles, types, and price ranges. Did I not tell you it’s useful?

But GreenFox carries exterior doors only. If you need one inside your home, you might want to look elsewhere.

But the good thing is their custom exterior doors are made to withstand the changing weather of Edmonton. I find that extremely helpful for energy efficiency.

Another thing I like is the 25-year labour warranty. Although their windows have lifetime warranty, steel and fiberglass custom doors only have ten years.

The craftsmanship is really good, too! The doors are durable and perfect for Canada’s harsh winters.

But there are some negative aspects we found, particularly in customer service. The clients we surveyed complained about the lack of response, which caused delays.

Lastly, there were some issues with improper installation. Frankly, we understand how that can be frustrating.

Pros

  • Focuses on energy-efficient products
  • Products passed the Energy Star rating
  • Uses recycled materials
  • Good build quality
  • 100% lead-free products

Cons

  • No custom interior doors
  • Some customer service complaints
  • Some improper installation complaints

Last on our list is Canglow Windows & Doors, which specialises in energy-efficient doors. That’s one of the things I like because it helps avoid high energy bills.

Moreover, all products they sell pass the Energy Star rating. What’s the importance? You can save around 10 to 25% on heating and cooling bills!

Plus, they make sure to double or triple-seal their glass products, resulting in better insulation. Their commitment to energy efficiency is impressive!

Another aspect I like is how environmentally friendly they are. You see, they use recycled materials, which I find admirable!

In addition, their custom door quality is impeccable. The attention to detail is impressive, and even the paint is smoothly applied.

Furthermore, you have the freedom to customize your door, from paint to hardware. I also like how the team will guide you in choosing the best features.

We also like that they give realistic expectations about the doors. They’re honest about the negative factors of the door types, instead of simply selling a custom door to you.

But they don’t do interior doors, sadly. The good thing is all their doors are 100% lead-free, keeping you and your family safe!

Although I’m impressed with the build quality, there have been some installation problems. These issues were mostly for the windows, which reduces energy efficiency, don’t you think?

It would also be nice to see an improvement in customer service. Sadly, some clients were disappointed about the lack of response when they needed assistance.
