Pros
- Accepts all genders
- Wide range of services
- Offers counselling programs
- Offers birth control and STI prevention supplies
Cons
- Graham location is closed on Saturdays during summer
- Some complaints about incorrect schedules
In 1981, Women’s Health Clinic first opened its doors in Winnipeg. Conveniently, there are now three clinics: Graham, St. Mary’s Road, and Portage.
Our favourite aspect is they welcome individuals of all genders including those who identify as Two-spirit, transgender, or non-binary. In our opinion, this can provide a safe space for health needs, an important factor in ensuring a positive experience.
We were glad to have found they offer a wide range of services such as reproductive, sexual, and mental health care. For us, these allow patients to visit just one clinic for various needs.
Other services they provide are cervical screening, birth control, emergency contraception, STI prevention supplies, pregnancy and infant loss programs, parenting support, and many others. We found these incredibly helpful for women.
Moreover, we highly appreciate they offer a safe space for abortion in Winnipeg, which is legal in Canada. They offer medication and aspiration abortion, both free of charge for those with a Manitoba health card or other provincial health cards.
Additionally, they offer counselling programs for those uncertain about continuing or terminating their pregnancy. We admire that they have professionals available to provide correct information, support, and compassion during difficult times.
A minor issue is their Graham location is closed on Saturdays during the summer months. We also heard some complaints regarding the scheduling system, specifically incorrect appointment times.

Pros
- Specializes in midwifery care
- Accepts birth admissions 24/7
- Has a well-equipped facility for birthing
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Doesn’t accept high-risk pregnancy
Ode’imin Women’s Health Centre, previously known as The Birth Centre, is a part of Women’s Health Clinic (WHC) that specializes in midwifery care in Winnipeg.
We appreciate that they offer various programs to support women during pre and postnatal stages. They also offer workshops for parents aimed at helping them navigate parenthood.
One of the best features of Ode’imin is that all patients receive care from midwives. These healthcare professionals offer assistance and support during and after pregnancy for up to six weeks following the baby’s birth.
We appreciate their assistance in finding a midwife, which ensures that you receive services from qualified professionals. It’s easy, too, because they have an online form to start the process.
One of their remarkable aspects is their facility, which includes a spacious tub in each room specifically designed for expecting mothers who opt for a water birth. The rooms also have amenities available for other birthing positions, like birth balls.
Additionally, we like the facility’s lounge, where families can relax, watch movies, spend time with children, and prepare food. You can bring your own food and supplies for kids who are picky eaters.
You should know that all patients need to be under the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). Also, they only accept patients with low-risk pregnancies.
Unfortunately, Ode’imin is closed on weekends. Nonetheless, they are available for birth admissions 24/7 since babies tend to choose their own birthdays!

Pros
- Specializes in naturopathic medicine
- Focuses on proactive healthcare
- Prescribes medical cannabis
- Offers IV therapy
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Limited women’s health services
For over 15 years, Nature Doctors has provided naturopathic medicine to patients of all ages. They use natural medicine based on science and research to help the body heal itself.
We also like that they offer various services for women’s health despite not specializing solely in it. These include hormones and thyroid treatment, digestive problem treatment, and mental health support.
Also, we admire their approach to providing individualized care. Instead of going to the only available specialist, they will find the right one based on your health needs.
Moreover, their focus on proactive healthcare measures left us impressed. Patients can visit the clinic even when they are not feeling unwell, ensuring they receive the preventative care they need to maintain optimal health.
A notable aspect is they provide medical cannabis for patients with chronic pain and undergoing chemotherapy. It’s worth mentioning that they have a nurse practitioner on the team who can prescribe this.
Hormone testing is available, too, and the naturopathic doctor will administer the most appropriate test based on your specific requirements. We also like that they offer IV (intravenous) therapy that can help regulate hormones.
We were surprised to learn that Nature Doctors is not open on weekends. It’s a bit disappointing for patients who can only schedule appointments during their days off.

Pros
- Specializes in breast and cervix cancer
- Provides transportation assistance
- Provides interpreters
- Welcomes all genders
Cons
- Limited women’s health services
- Closed on weekends
CancerCare Manitoba specializes in cancer. They are a highly accessible place for anyone with their multiple locations in Winnipeg and other urban and rural areas in Manitoba.
Moreover, they provide transportation assistance for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. We also appreciate that they offer free interpreter services in multiple languages—just make arrangements before the appointment.
Their services include screening and treatment for breast and cervix cancer—both are important to look for because they often affect women. In addition, they offer colon cancer screening.
We admire that they welcome trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals. Their website also provides guidelines for those highly recommended to get screened for breast, cervix, and colon cancer.
It’s worth noting they offer aftercare programs for patients who have completed their treatments and those who had childhood or adolescent cancer. For us, these are beneficial in ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and care.
Another notable service is they conduct clinical trials to develop better services that are more effective for future patients. It goes without saying that a world without cancer is a positive thing.
Although women’s health services are available, they are quite limited. We were also saddened they’re closed on weekends, but they recommend other clinics for emergency services.

Pros
- Accepts walk-ins
- Open daily
- Offers periconceptional counselling
- Has an in-house pharmacy
Cons
- Weekend hours may change
- Some instances of long waiting time
Marion Medical Centre is a walk-in clinic in Winnipeg, making it very convenient for patients. One of their specializations is women’s health, but they also offer dermatology and family practice.
Their services include birth control counselling, emergency contraception counselling, and IUD (intrauterine device insertion), which are helpful for women to achieve their reproductive goals.
In addition, they provide pre and postnatal care. We also admire their periconceptional counselling, which is health education before pregnancy to decrease the likelihood of poor perinatal outcomes.
We commend that they provide a safe and accessible clinic for at-risk women. They offer sexual health services, including screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI).
At Marion Medical Centre, we like that patients can conveniently fill their prescriptions without leaving the clinic, thanks to their in-house pharmacy (Norwood Pharmacy). What’s more, the pharmacy offers free delivery within Winnipeg, which is a definite plus.
Their availability is quite impressive as they are open even on Sundays, making it convenient for patients to schedule appointments, especially those who have work or school.
However, their weekend hours may occasionally vary. So, we suggest that patients call ahead before dropping by.
Based on our client surveys, there were instances of long waiting times—some waited more than an hour. If you don’t like waiting, we recommend scheduling an appointment.
