Pros

  • Allows outside picnic and snacks
  • Kid and dog-friendly winery
  • Highly accommodating and friendly team
  • Has live music
  • Has affordable rates
  • Aesthetically pleasing place

Cons

  • Small area
  • Sometimes gets too crowded

What we like most about Country Vines Winery is that they offer a unique tasting experience in their tasting room just off Steveston Highway. Visitors can get cozy at a fire table in the lounge or enjoy a bottle and a charcuterie box in their picnic area.

And speaking of picnic areas, we have to give them props for having an Instagram-worthy haven for wine adventures. Plus, they encourage visitors to bring snacks and enjoy good food without breaking the bank!

We were also pleasantly surprised to find that they also have live music on weekends, amping the mood and ambiance. In our books, this aspect heightens the overall experience at Country Vines Winery!

Another thing we’d like to highlight at Country Vines Winery is that visitors can bring little ones or furry friends along. This winery is a family and fur-friendly zone, so everyone can join the fun—there are farm animals here that kids would love to see!

Plus, we commend Country Vines Winery for its accommodating and friendly team that guides and assists visitors through the wine experience. The best part? Wine tastings start at just $5, and this may be waived with the purchase of a bottle!

Furthermore, we like how the wines here are locally made, straight from the owners’ family farm! From our surveys, we found that some crowd favourites are the Harry’s Reserve, Schonburger, Hot Pursuit, and Gewürztraminer.

On the downside, we found here is that the place can be quite crowded, especially during their busy season, and there are limited parking spots at the front of the shop.

Nonetheless, we think Country Vines Winery’s popularity is a testament to the excellent experience they offer!

Pros

  • Has great member benefits
  • Affordable rates
  • Sports an industrial vibe

Cons

  • Only open 2 days a week

One thing about the Garden of Granite Winery that charmed us is its cool and chic place—well, besides their wine. Picture this: an old industrial building turned into a wine haven, a refreshing change from the usual outdoor patio scene, eh?

And we found that they’ve got a pretty diverse lineup – cabernet, chardonnay, merlot, petite sirah, pinot grigio, pinot gris, and syrah. What makes it interesting is that these wines come from both the Okanagan Valley and Australia.

We also appreciate that it’s not just about the wine for their members – visitors get the VIP treatment. Think free wine tastings, 15% off on everything, sneak peeks at new wines, free shipping, and the power to customize wine boxes!

Word on the street is that the winery also offers affordable services. Clients shared to us that they did wine tastings and got to choose three kinds for only $8, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff on the side.

However, we’re a bit bummed that they only open on Fridays and Saturdays. So, if you’re eyeing a sip, we suggest booking in advance to snag your spot for the fantastic wine vibes.

Even with the limited days, we still think Garden of Granite Winery is a pretty solid choice to kick back and enjoy sips sourced from wine regions all around the world.

Pros

  • Offers 36 wines on tap
  • Has a decent food selection
  • Has friendly and attentive staff

Cons

  • Can improve cleanliness

Now, for a winery vibe without the whole vineyard journey, let’s head on to Vancouver Urban Collective! We like that they have wines from all around the region and beyond.

We’re also impressed with their lineup of wines, beers, and drinks – pair that with their delicious food, and we’ve got ourselves the ultimate brunch spot in Vancouver! Plus, they’ve got many options for meat lovers and vegetarians—a little something for everyone.

Just to paint the picture, the winery offers 36 wines on tap, and when it comes to food, think menus with dishes made from scratch using local ingredients. From what we’ve gathered in our surveys, folks had a blast celebrating special occasions at Vancouver Urban.

On the downside, we heard a few reports about the place not being squeaky clean inside. Though it’s not a total disaster, you know how it is – most people like a spotless vibe for a sleek experience—just keeping it real!

Luckily, we’re pleased by their customer service, given their friendly staff who are attentive and willing to answer any questions like the history of their wine. We also love how they quickly sort things out for customers who had concerns with their experience at the venue.

Pros

  • Provide 100% vegan wine
  • Has a laid-back setting
  • Offers good food

Cons

  • Has limited lounge seats
  • Has limited membership benefits

Moving on to Pacific Breeze Winery – these guys craft some full-bodied reds and luscious white wines that are perfect for any shindig. And get this: they’re like fruit connoisseurs, picking the cream of the crop from top-notch vineyards in British Columbia, Washington, and California.

It’s also worth noting that every single one of their wines is 100% vegan! And, from what we’ve seen, they’re not cutting any corners; each barrel gets the royal treatment to guarantee top-notch quality.

We’ve also got to mention their awesome patio and lounge setup. It’s not over the top, but we’re charmed by the laid-back and cozy vibes it brings to the table.

Now, here’s the lowdown – seats are a bit of a hot commodity at Pacific Breeze, and it’s a first-come, first-served type of deal. If you’re eyeing a spot, the best bet is to roll in early, especially when it’s buzzing, or call them to check the scene.

On the bright side, their food game is on point for an extra good time. Picture this: chilling in their lounge with a flight, glass, or bottle, and these light snacks that team up perfectly with the wine.

Lastly, we appreciate the relaxed experience Pacific Breeze Winery has to offer. And keep an eye out for a food truck rolling in now and then!

Pros

  • Adjacent to a 15-acre vineyard
  • Seated wine tasting
  • Offers winery tours

Cons

  • Can improve booking and reservation process
  • Can improve customer service

A distinctive feature of LuLu Island Winery we came to like is their offering of winery tours. Visitors get to see how grapes grow and turn into the awesome bottles everyone loves worldwide—like a cool backstage tour from vine to bottle!

It’s also nice that even if visitors can’t make it to the actual vineyard, they can still soak in the vibes from a distance since they’re right next to their lush 15-acre vineyards. We think having the city on one side and the vineyard on the other is a unique and unforgettable scene!

Here’s a sneak peek of their tour: there’s this stunning tunnel garden, and we were mesmerized by the crazy variety of wines, some grown right in their backyard. Trust us, a photo won’t capture it like seeing it in person.

However, we’re a tad iffy about what we heard on the booking front. When giving them a ring to make a reservation, there seems to be a bit of a hitch with communicating the current queues and scheduling.

We also think there’s room for a bit of improvement in their customer service game, especially when it’s a full house, so everyone gets the assistance and accommodation they deserve.

Despite that hiccup, we can’t deny that LuLu Island Winery rocks as one of the best local spots in Vancouver.
