Another one of the aspects we like is they specialize in windshield glass replacements. However, that’s a slight downside since they don’t offer a wide array of auto services—they offer advanced driver-assistance system calibration (ADAS), though!

On the positive side, their turnaround time is pretty quick. Windshield repairs usually take only 20 minutes, while replacements take around three hours—in and out in one day! Pretty great, eh?

Moreover, we appreciate their skills in working with different types of vehicles! They service cars, trucks (including heavy trucks), and RVs.

In addition, we really like their lifetime warranty. It remains valid as long as you are the vehicle’s owner.

It’s worth noting that their prices are pretty reasonable. Plus, we appreciate their deductible financing, which has a 90-day interest-free option—ideal for clients with limited budgets.

A standout service they provide is they provide a shuttle or a courtesy car, which is helpful when your windshield is severely damaged. That’s a pretty unique service that not all auto glass shops provide.

However, ACR Auto Glas operates on a first-come, first-serve policy for their courtesy car, which can have limited availability depending on their workload. Nonetheless, they will provide you with a rental car as a substitute.

Hometown Auto Glass, a locally owned and operated business, caught our attention due to their years of experience in the industry. They’ve been around for over six decades—impressive!

They specialize in windshield replacement, repairs, installations, custom glass, and rear and side window repairs. They’re like a one-stop shop for auto glass for domestic and commercial vehicles, no?

Quite possibly, our favourite aspect is their highly skilled technicians who are I-CAR certified, an international organization that focuses on auto repair training. It also entails that they are knowledgeable in the latest technology—a definite plus!

In addition, we really like their turnaround times, and they accept same-day service, which is helpful for emergencies. The clients we surveyed even managed to pick up their cars in less than four hours!

Unfortunately, their services are not available on weekends, so you’ll have to take a day off to drop your car. Some clients also had mixed reviews regarding service quality, which bummed us a bit.

On the bright side, their lifetime warranty is pretty impressive, covering windshield repairs and replacements. It keeps clients at ease, which we approve of!

The last aspect we like is their prices, which were pretty decent. Hometown Auto Glass provided one of the most affordable estimates in the area, which their past clients commonly mentioned.

All Star Collision & Glass Ltd is a BBB-accredited business with a rating of A+. For us, that shows their commitment to resolving complaints!

Conveniently, they have two locations in Winnipeg (in Sargent and St. Mary’s). For us, that makes them an accessible auto glass shop, earning them points in availability!

Not a lot of points, though, since their operating hours are only during weekdays. Sadly, that means they aren’t readily available on weekends.

Another convenient aspect? They have accreditation from Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), which means they can process out-of-province claims. We appreciate that they also handle direct billing to the MPI!

We like that they cater to all makes and models of vehicles. Plus, they offer a wide variety of services, such as windshield replacement and repair, frame straightening, and auto painting and touch-ups—pretty convenient!

Furthermore, their technicians deserve special mention since they’re I-CAR Gold Class certified. It means they have met the high-quality standards for auto repairs—an important factor for windshield replacement!

What’s more, they provide a lifetime warranty for workmanship and materials as long as you’re the vehicle owner. This will include rust repairs only if they install new parts.

However, some client experiences were marred by instances of inconsistent service quality, particularly concerning customer service and communication. Nonetheless, we’ve seen significant improvement over the past few years! 

Speedy Glass was founded in 1949, making their time in the industry over seven decades—an outstanding feat! Aside from windshield replacement, they also offer repairs—ideal if the windshield damage isn’t major.

They’re a highly accessible windshield replacement shop with multiple locations across Canada. It’s just a bummer they’re unavailable for service on Saturdays and Sundays, which isn’t quite helpful for busy bees.

On a good note, we like that they provide camera recalibration if your front camera shifts during windshield replacement. In addition, they provide a 12-month guarantee for this service!

Another notable aspect is their network of technicians is highly skilled in windshield replacement, especially with their continuous training in the field. Not only that but they are also trained in using the latest technology, which is an important factor in our books!

Furthermore, we found that they were really quick with their services. Depending on availability, some locations will even allow you to drop your vehicle before opening hours for an even quicker service!

As for their warranties, we were impressed! Besides a windshield replacement lifetime warranty, they also have Protect Plus, which is a three to five-year guarantee for minor breach repairs.

Unfortunately, we observed varying service quality between different Speedy Glass branches. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed this with auto shops that have multiple locations.

What we particularly like about Fleet Auto Body is that they operate as a full-service auto body repair shop. Combine that with their 35 years of experience, and we’re truly impressed!

From our research, we found that they are also BBB accredited, complete with an A+ rating. In our opinion, it speaks about their dedication to providing good customer service.

Their range of services definitely earns them points in our book! They provide glass repair and replacement, collision repair, and autobody repair and refinish.

Additionally, they replace (and repair) any type of glass, including laminated and tempered. That also means that besides windshields, they work on side windows!

A standout factor is their technicians who are I-CAR Gold Class certified. Not only is it a high recognition, but it also means they are updated with knowledge and training regarding auto repairs.

Plus, they hold MPI Direct Repair accreditation, enabling clients to head directly to Fleet Auto Body for service right after filing the claim. It simplifies the process since there’s no need to go to an MPI Claim Centre—efficiency is key!

Even though their repair shop doesn’t operate on weekends, we really like their swift windshield repair turnaround times. Nonetheless, their efficiency can be inconsistent at times due to delayed responses according to our client surveys.
