It’s quite an asset, especially if it’s your first time planning for a project like this. Being involved in the consultation process is crucial, so it’s nice to see their team be friendly and accommodating.

That said, we like that you can get a free in-home consultation where their team walks you through fabrics, materials, shapes, and motorization, leaving little to no room for costly mishaps later. They’re closed on Sundays, though.

And we’re impressed by their know-how, particularly if you need custom work. Given their broad indoor and outdoor product range, like blinds, shades, pergolas, and awnings, they assist you in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming.

They have in-house electricians to skillfully handle motorization and smart integration, too. So, for homes with high windows, smart-home needs or complicated shapes, having them in the crew avoids needing multiple contractors.

We love that they do onsite consultations at no cost, and instead of driving to their place, they bring the showroom to you by showing samples and expertise at your place. It’s easier to judge colours, fabrics, and how coverings will look when you see them in your actual space.

Just note that they’re closed on weekends, so you’ll need to spare some time if you’re busy during weekdays. 

On a positive note, they deliver what their name promises—budget blinds. You can go through many options for uniquely shaped windows, energy efficiency, and style that are affordable without compromising quality.

Lastly, it’s reassuring to know that their products and installations are backed by a five-year warranty. If something goes wrong after installation, they’ll provide a one-time repair or replacement, free of charge and no questions asked.

True to its name, Window Fashions Depot can fashion many window types and meet the needs of different spaces. We’re glad that they offer a wide choice of blinds, roller shades, cellular/honeycomb shades, shutters and more across many brands.

With all of their stocks and materials to go through, visiting and checking out their massive, 9,000-sq.m showroom helps you visualize and actually touch before deciding—definetly beats guessing from photos. 

We also like that it gives clients room to play with material without having to spend a lot, since they have solutions for every budget. And they have staff to assist you and suggest the right customizations if needed. 

Weekends are a no-go, though, so make sure you have enough time to browse everything you need. 

Nonetheless, we can’t deny that Window Fashions Depot is incredibly reliable—even decorators and designers come here or bring their clients to look and shop around.

It’s neat how Empire Blinds focuses on providing shades and blinds that manage light, glare, and solar heat gain—features that go beyond styles and colours. 

And it doesn’t take away from the fact that they have many fabrics from neutral hues to textured, organic weaves, and openness factors, making them suitable for larger windows. This comes as a plus for homes with specific architectural windows or if you have something in mind. 

Here’s a cool bonus: their coverings are pretty much multi-functional, and this includes high acoustical performance. If you’re in a busy or noisy area, it can help block out the sound coming in. 

But it’s a bummer that they don’t focus on motorization or smart home integration, which can be a deal breaker for some. 

The silver lining? We noted that their turnaround is quick and efficient. Some homeowners even shared that the job only took a week, from consultation to installation.

Speaking of projects, we’re impressed by their attention to detail for custom work. The homeowners we spoke with shared how they were first worried since their windows don’t follow standard measurements, so they were happy with the results. 

Another thing that caught our attention is their high-end motorized and smart-home-ready options, especially their motorized roller shades and drapery compatible with voice/app control and smart systems. 

The catch? Premium price tags; their name can probably tell you what to expect when it comes to prices. Still, many are happy with the investment, especially for luxury homes and architectural projects.
