Pros
- Offers lessons for students ages 4 months to adults
- Has a high-end pool filtration system
- Has small-sized classes per lesson
- Provides private and semi-private lessons
- Accepts students with special abilities
- Friendly and highly skilled instructors
- Effective curriculum
Cons
- Can improve communication
- Some reports of outdated pool hours
- Lacks in-depth evaluation after classes
What we like most about H2O Academy is how age-inclusive they are by providing swim lessons to students ages four months to adults.
On top of that, we commend them for welcoming students with special abilities and understanding their unique needs to offer a more tailored experience and to determine which class will be most appropriate for them!
That said, we witnessed how they provide an innovative approach to swimming lessons through their curriculum, and it has proven to be effective, given the fast results and success stories.
It’s also cool to see the instructors get along with everyone, which helps ease nerves for some.
However, we would prefer if they had a more in-depth evaluation for each student after classes. For instance, they would only give generic feedback like “recommend continuing in the same
class,” which we think falls short of a comprehensive experience.
Moreover, we hope they improve their communication and responsiveness to inquiries and concerns, particularly billing and registration.
On the bright side, we like that H2O Academy has small-sized classes since it allows the instructors to focus on all their students at once and promote better progress for each one. Plus, you can register for private or semi-private classes if you’re uncomfortable with other people.
Lastly, we are impressed by their high-end pool filtration system that uses UV disinfection to ensure you’re swimming in clean and safe water.

Pros
- Offers family and individual memberships
- Has a large facility
- Has multiple facilities and amenities
- Has a saltwater pool
- Offers lifeguard courses
Cons
- Can improve cleanliness in shower rooms
- Can improve customer service
One of Rady JCC Fitness Centre’s competitive edge is that they provide an extensive array of sports, recreation, fitness and wellness programs for children, youth and adults of all ages.
We like that you can choose an individual or a family membership, which can be cheaper for some. It’s also a good opportunity to make memories and bond with your family.
One of the highlights of Rady JCC Fitness Center is its saltwater pool, not only is it large, but it’s also gentler than traditional chlorine pools. It’s also a neat experience for the students since it feels like the beach!
On top of that, they have multiple amenities at your disposal, such as their tracks, equipment, courts and more, in case you want to do something else after your swim class.
But, we are a bit iffy about the inconsistent cleanliness of their shower and steam rooms. So we hope they prioritize more on maintaining these facilities, especially when people come in to wash themselves.
In addition, we noted reports regarding poor customer service from staff, in most cases, the lack of assistance for newer members.
Other than that, we are pleased with their swimming lessons and curriculum, especially for the kids. And speaking of curriculum, we like that Rady JCC provides lifeguard courses at different levels to accommodate everyone’s experience.

Pros
- Has multiple pools
- Offers competitive prices
- Has diving boards and towers
- Has multiple amenities
- Instructors are great with kids
Cons
- Does not update schedules for different pools
- Can improve responsiveness
- Limited changing rooms
What impresses us about Pan Am Pool is that this facility meets international standards to host world-class aquatic events. For us, this means that their facility and amenities are of good quality, which makes us happy that it’s open for public use.
To add, we like that they have multiple pools that can accommodate different heights, ages, and types of swimmers.
Moreover, they even have towers and diving boards for those with more experience or who want to train.
Although it would have been better if they posted or updated pool schedules regularly since some would end up in a closed pool.
We also think they should improve their responsiveness, especially for inquiries and registrations.
On a positive note, we appreciate their competitive and affordable rates, which are perfect for families.
Another thing we want to emphasize is how well instructors handle and teach children. From what we’ve seen, most kids get over their doubts and are quick to get comfortable in the water.
It’s also worth mentioning that Pan Am Pool has multiple amenities for sports, recreation and leisure.
However, we noticed they have limited changing rooms, causing long lines and wait times.
Nonetheless, we recommend Pan Am Pool for that sense of community and a fun and productive swimming lesson for your kids.

Pros
- Maintains cleanliness throughout entire facility
- Offers lifesaving courses
- Has small-sized classes
- Offers lessons for students ages 4 months to adults
- Has spacious changing rooms
- Friendly and skilled instructors
Cons
- Limited instructor availability
- Can improve responsiveness
- Slightly pricier than other places
Aqua Essence Swim Academy sounds as fresh as its facility, considering how it maintains and prioritizes cleanliness, from changing rooms to the pool.
On that note, we like that they have spacious changing rooms, making it easier to move around, especially if you have kids and have a big bag to carry and move around.
Notably, they offer swim lessons for students as young as four months old to adults and even athletes.
Another thing we love is that they have small-sized classes per session; it’s almost as if it’s a one-on-one lesson with your instructor. This makes it easier for the instructor to pay attention to every student at once — best for faster progress too!
On the downside, we noticed that there are times when the instructor availability is limited, forcing existing and new students to postpone or look for other swim academies.
We also think they should work on their response time for inquiries and follow-ups to avoid causing confusion and inconvenience for the students.
Still, Aqua Essence Swim Academy instructors are friendly and highly skilled in dealing with students with different swimming experiences.
Lastly, apart from their swimming lessons and pool parties, we think it’s great that they provide lifesaving courses, from Bronze Star to National Lifeguard programs.
5. Margaret Grant Pool

Pros
- Has great water temperature
- Has friendly instructors and deck supervisors
- Has free and spacious parking
- Affordable and reasonable fees
- Very kid-friendly
Cons
- Limited and small changing rooms
- Some complaints regarding open hours
- Can improve customer experience
- Can improve cleanliness
Margaret Grant Pool is another place for families opting for an affordable place to learn or just have fun swimming with their kids.
We like that it’s easy to sign up for swimming lessons, as easy as walking in and registering right there and then.
To add, we appreciate how friendly and great the instructors are with kids — effectively splashing the nerves away!
In general, their facility is kid-friendly, and they even have kiddie pools for leisure swimming. We think this also helps the parent’s job in monitoring their children.
On the downside, we noticed they have limited and small changing rooms, making guests and students resort to sharing the changing rooms.
Consequently, this leads to a mess, and we observed how some areas lack cleanliness.
Although, we have to give them a hand for having one of the warmest pool water temperatures in town. You won’t have to worry about turning purple or becoming a shivering mess after every swimming lesson.
On top of that, we love that they have a free and spacious parking space, which means you wouldn’t have to fight for a spot almost any time of the day.
Overall, we believe Margaret Grant Pool is your go-to pool if you have small children with you who are sensitive to the cold pool water.
