When talking about laser eye surgeries, LASIK MD immediately pops up, and for good reason. They specialise in procedures that will remove the need for eyeglasses and contact lenses.

They’ve performed thousands of LASIK eye surgeries, and they have over 30 clinics in Canada, including one in Surrey.

And although they’ve expanded, the level of service we’ve seen remains the same: professional and affordable (starting at $490 per eye). But expect to spend thousands for LASIK, as it depends on your eye health.

We like that they offer a variety of procedures in their Vancouver clinic to address different levels of vision correction needs, including standard, custom wavefront, and all-laser LASIK.

Impressively, alternative procedures are available for individuals disqualified for LASIK, like PRK surgery. It’s incredible how accessible they are, including offering free consultations, albeit done with a technician, not a doctor.

The overall journey has been smooth, according to our surveys. Most clients were happy with the level of support they received, from consultations to post-op care—the 20/20 vision, even years later, was the main perk!

One of the clinics for LASIK that’s worth relying on is Pacific Laser Eye Centre. When we did our surveys, the majority highly praised the staff for being responsive, professional, and supportive.

Their experience in LASIK is impressive, as they were the first BC centre to offer LASIK and one of the first in the world to provide Femto LASIK services. These days, they provide something a little less invasive.

They take the main stage by offering SmartSurfACE Laser, a procedure that doesn’t require cuts and scraping, and has a quicker recovery time. Plus, it comes with a tracking system that works effectively for individuals who have trouble staying still.

The thing is, it doesn’t work for everyone. And since they don’t offer a wide variety of LASIK services, their score goes down a notch.

But we appreciate that they invest in new technologies, even though it results in higher fees. When you look at it, it’s worth it, since their re-treatment rate is less than 1%.

London Eye Centre has been providing vision correction services since 1985, so their experience is, safe to say, highly extensive. Another impressive thing? They’ve performed LASIK on high-profile clients, including celebrities.

Their offerings include standard and all-laser LASIK, as well as PRK surgery. We were pleased with the options, since they provide the traditional approach and a bladeless LASIK using advanced technology.

From what we’ve seen, the results have been positive. When we spoke with their past clients, we were pleased to learn that they continued to have excellent vision.

As far as customer care goes, things have been smooth, except for a couple of times when communication could’ve been handled better, like scheduling.

But we appreciate their Reciprocal Patient Care Program, aimed at assisting out-of-town clients. The staff will help with your follow-ups and connect with your local eye doctor.

The best part is that the prices are affordable, especially when you consider the inclusions. Their all-inclusive LASIK package drew us in, as it includes out-of-town post-ops, post-op supplies, and re-treatments (if needed).

BC LASIK makes the whole vision correction experience smooth, from consultations to follow-up care. That’s one of the reasons we like them, and you can understand why.

Let’s start with their 1.5-hour free consultations, available in-person or virtually, where you’ll speak with a specialist and not a technician. We like how thorough these sessions are!

With that, it’s their service that really gets us. The staff were accommodating and went above and beyond by making sure everything was convenient for the client, including after the LASIK eye surgery.

They mainly provide all-Laser LASIK, which is great and all, but it’s a shame that other types of LASIK aren’t offered. It’s all good, since alternatives are available for individuals not recommended for LASIK, like refractive lens exchange.

As for the payments, we appreciate their in-house financing, which has 0% interest. That’s very helpful, considering the cost of LASIK isn’t cheap.

BoydVision Centre, a clinic in Burnaby, stands out for their expertise, as they specialize in laser eye surgeries. Plus, they’ve been around since 1995—a testament to their enduring reputation in the field.

One of their services is Femto LASIK, a form of bladeless eye surgery that is more precise than traditional LASIK. Their LASIK services are limited to this, though, but they offer various vision correction surgeries if you aren’t a candidate for LASIK.

It’s worth highlighting that their staff can speak English, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Tagalog. For non-native speakers, this translates to a more comfortable experience, especially post-op.

And yes, they do provide good customer care, like quickly booking a schedule. We noted a couple of misunderstandings, however. For example, it would’ve been better to know if the consultation will be with a technician if the specialist isn’t available.

Still, we’re here for the results, and we’ve seen significantly improved vision from clients after LASIK. Most have noted that the fees have been transparent, too.
