Address: 220-3667 Strawberry Hill St

Contact: (902) 818-9870 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM-9:00 PM; Friday 10:00 AM-8:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday 9:00 AM-8:00 PM

We decided to try out a session at Hole9Golf because their training philosophy relies entirely on a body-first, athlete-centred coaching framework.

It’s also interesting that they kick things off with an extensive screening that checks your range of motion and movement capacity before building a swing plan around how you naturally move.

Plus, working with their Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified coaches and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Canada members gives you elite, data-driven insight into your mechanical habits.

To top it off, they support your swing with fitness coaching and injury prevention to boost your strength.

The only real catch is that their setup is an indoor-focused training environment that uses simulators and TrackMan monitors. So, if you’re searching for a coach to walk the actual outdoor fairways with you during a live game, you might need an alternative.

Pros

  • Experienced coaching team
  • Body-based training plans
  • Customized swing analysis
  • Data-driven insights

Cons

  • Indoor-focused training environment
  • No outdoor on-course coaching

Youth golf coaching that builds confidence

A great program for youth golfers.  Daylan is an excellent coach who genuinely cares about the kids he works with. He is dedicated, patient, and takes the time to understand each player’s strengths and areas for improvement. Since working with him, my son has shown noticeable progress in both skill and confidence. Hole 9 Golf provides an outstanding environment for learning and growth. It is professional yet relaxed and focused on helping young athletes reach their full potential. I highly recommend Daylan and his team.

Beginner-friendly lessons with supportive coaching

Can’t say enough good things about this place!! As a complete beginner, I’ve learned so much in just 6 sessions. Coach Daylan is absolutely fantastic—he’s patient, knowledgeable, and knows exactly how to break things down in a way that’s easy to understand. His teaching style is both encouraging and challenging, pushing me to improve while making sure I feel comfortable at every step. The environment is welcoming, and the entire team is supportive, which has made my experience so much more enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to my next session!

Indian Lake Golf Course is where standard course play blends with elite clubhouse technology to accelerate your development.

Here, you can book high-definition golf simulator lessons combined with video analysis and detailed 3D course models. These systems track crucial data points, such as ball speed and club path, so you get instant feedback in a comfortable environment.

Another big draw is that lessons are taught by David Perry (a PGA of Canada member), who has over 20 years of expertise coaching all ages.

After your session, you can test your adjustments immediately on their executive course, which offers flexible 9- or 18-hole rounds.

This course is also in an incredibly convenient Halifax-area location, sitting just ten minutes from town.

However, they have a limited roster of lesson instructors because the program centers almost entirely on one main professional, which might limit your scheduling flexibility.

Pros

  • PGA Canada instruction
  • HD simulator training
  • Flexible 9- or 18-hole play
  • Convenient Halifax-area location

Cons

  • Fewer visible coaching choices

Welcoming staff who make golf feel like home

The staff of the Indian Lake Golf Course are exceptional.  They take time to check in to see if patrons are having a good time.  They offer helpful tips.  Most importantly, they make you feel at home.  You are made to feel like you are part of the family.  We cannot wait to get on the greens again!  Great job Doug and team.  We are looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Laid-back course with friendly service

My favorite place to golf in the city. Always lots of fun, no matter who you get matched with. The staff is engaged and always friendly, just a great, laid back time over-all. I highly recommend this course if you aren’t too competitive. Also, the food is always great at the restaurant, Martin’s Kitchen!

Here, you can secure excellent lessons guided by David Perry (a PGA of Canada member), who brings over two decades of coaching experience to the tee.

And for those who don’t own gear, they provide convenient, beginner-friendly rental clubs for adults and children. On top of that, your club rentals support local causes, as half of the proceeds go directly to Feed Nova Scotia and the IWK Health Centre.

We also love how this centre maintains a strict smoke-, alcohol-, and drug-free facility to provide a safe space for juniors. They also feature a family-friendly mini golf course with professional turf.

However, because this is an outdoor facility, weather can unexpectedly affect operations and alter hours.

  • Club rentals support local causes
  • Smoke-, alcohol-, and drug-free facility

Cons

  • Unpredictable outdoor field conditions

I would give this place a 5 star rating without even thinking. The owner of this golf driving range Mrs Olive is a very kind hearted lady. I am a beginner in this sport and she took time to teach me the perfect form to hit my shots. The driving range is really well maintained and my favourite spot to come practice my shots. Will definitely come again, so I can get better at golf. Thank you Mrs Olive, you are a legend and a very kind hearted person.

Friendly driving range and family mini putt

Great driving range! The owner Ms. Olive makes it even better with her cheerful presence. She wouldn’t hesitate to give tips to people learning and go above and beyond to maintain customer relations. Overall great experience and very well maintained driving range and mini putt. Mini putt has 18 holes making it great time for families.

Beginner-friendly course with great value

Great course for beginners and avid golfers.Price is great especially when it only costs another $10 to play the 9 hole course twice. Has driving range and practice chipping and putting green. Great spot, friendly employees and the view of the 9th green on the outside deck is a great spot for a beverage and a quick bite following your round. Definitely a hidden gem I would recommend to anyone who loves golf or is just beginning their journey.

Quick 9-hole rounds with good vibes

My favorite course in town. Staff are excellent Ariel, Debbie, Jan, Elaine etc… Great spot to shoot a quick 9 or run it twice and do 18. Pace of play is usually pretty quick. Vibes are always good.
