When we lose a loved one, the pain we feel is undescribable. When my granny passed away, there was nothing I wanted to do more than sit in her chair and cuddle with the quilt she made me.
The reality is, we have to make funeral arrangements. It’s tough to navigate logistics and paperwork while dealing with strong emotions, but thankfully, you don’t have to go at it alone.
These days, you’ll find funeral services that offer way more than basic things. Someone handling the wake helped me deal with grief and stress, and it was exactly the assistance my family and I needed.
Death leaves sorrow at its feet, and sometimes, you need professional assistance to make the process easier. Here are our trusted funeral services in Montreal, where compassion comes with every goodbye.

What’s remarkable about Services Funéraires en ligne.com is their dedication to providing a convenient and stress-free experience for grieving loved ones. Their range of offerings gives clients peace of mind!
For instance, their compassionate staff can handle transportation, body preparation, government forms, and administrative forms. You can get all these through their all-inclusive packages for cremations and burials.
Additionally, they help with the Quebec death benefit and provide an inheritance assistance platform for the surviving family members. The 24/7 human support in all phases has greatly helped many clients, including some of our team members.
Another standout thing is they’re ideal for both cremation and burials, although there’s a limit of 3-hour ceremonies (visitation and viewing) at the funeral home. Frankly, we think that’s enough, but we acknowledge that it might be short for other traditions and beliefs.
Still, they keep things in check by catering to all budgets through affordable pricing. Honestly, they’re a quick service, including a 2-hour response to emergencies in Montreal and its surrounding communities.
The best in their field
“They are the best in their field. Impeccable and impeccable service. Everything is done calmly and with respect. Thank you.”

1000 stars of satisfaction
“This is a 5-star review for 1000 stars of satisfaction. Services Funéraires en ligne is outstanding in every way. Pierre, the company owner and Funeral Director, was an absolute delight to work with. He guided us through every step to make our dear mother’s funeral and burial simple, easy and worry-free. He led the way in what can only be described as a class act. My mother’s specific wishes for her funeral were fully and totally respected. Everyone had nothing but praises for Services Funéraires en ligne, for Pierre, and for his staff. We could not have made a better choice for our mother. We highly recommend Pierre and his Services Funéraires en ligne.”

We appreciate Magnus Poirier Funeral Home for providing traditional memorials. They’ve served Montreal for over 100 years, and incredibly, have adapted to the times while keeping the respect and compassion that grieving families need.
They’ve evolved by offering both cremation and burials, both with funeral arrangements that cater to every budget. All packages include recovery of the deceased and transportation.
Moreover, they offer catering and multimedia services for the funeral, which eases the funeral process because everything can get done in one place. In addition, they provide international repatriation assistance for the shipment of the deceased’s body.
Everything’s personalised here as well, which accommodates every belief and tradition. But for emergency funeral services, their Montreal line isn’t open 24/7.
As a full-service funeral home in Montreal, they’re ideal for large ceremonies, as they have rooms to accommodate many visitors—the parking area is a bonus. Most clients deeply appreciate the convenience of having a modern crematorium on site.
Great service
“A quick note to Thank Mario Di Liello and his team for the great service they provide with regards to my uncle’s funeral and handling the added complexity of repatriation to Italy. A special Thanks to Rita for helping me with my shoe !”

3. Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes

One of the main things we like about Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes is the large capacity of their rooms. Their chapel can even accommodate up to 250 people, making them ideal for large gatherings.
The 1940s brick house is another reason, where natural light brings a comforting feeling and is beautifully designed to add a warm environment. They’re also fully staffed with pallbearers and drivers to provide full support to clients.
Service-wise, they’re open for burials and cremations, but these are going to come at a price. The inclusions aren’t as extensive as we’d hoped, and adding professional services will increase the prices.
We still appreciate that you get the convenience of arranging the whole funeral service in one place, except for a few communication mishaps, as reported by some family members.
Still, there are plenty of services and packages that are up for customisation, like vehicle rental and embalming, and it’s not like they’ll force you to include all of these.
Helpful, responsive, and listened to us
“All of the staff at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White were helpful, responsive and listened to us as we made arrangements for our father’s funeral. They helped us create a unique celebration of life and guided us through the process. Veronika was professional, knowledgeable and was able to help us in our decision-making during a difficult time.”

Complexe Funéraire Aeterna et Crématorium has everything covered, as they offer burial and cremation services. Their offerings are comprehensive, which makes the whole process smooth and easy for the deceased’s loved ones.
One of their most convenient services is repatriation, in case the body is located outside Canada. This is an extremely difficult process, so we appreciate how the staff handles the preparation, documentation, and transportation.
Additionally, their services are completely flexible, as they can adjust their offerings based on what families need. Truly, they go the extra mile with the customisation, which has been noted by their clients over the years.
We also appreciate that they can accommodate large funeral gatherings (up to 350 people). What truly helps grieving families is the option to attend the cremation, since they have a crematorium on site.
They aren’t the cheapest, though, with funeral plans starting at over $2,700. It’s still comprehensive, anyway, and you still receive full support from the funeral staff.
Excellent service
“Excellent service. Staff was very patient and understanding. Solved every issue and concern we had right away. A little bit of issue with the livestream they provide for the people away but it is not something they are in complete control of. Don’t wish this day for anyone to come anytime soon but it is a great funeral home to say your loved one your final goodbyes”
– Royce Hertz, Google Review
Experienced and easy to communicate with
“They provided excellent service. Staff were experienced and easy to communicate. Although I don’t want to use their service again, it’s a good place to say goodbye, and I do recommend them if anyone is looking for funeral services.”

We appreciate a highly accessible funeral service, especially living in Montreal, where traffic is bad. Jean-Talon Street Funeral Home is close to the metro station, but still accommodates vehicles since there’s a parking lot.
Apart from being accessible to wheelchair users, their facility brings a comforting and warm environment with its bright and spacious rooms.
Also, they’re one of our chosen funeral services because they have complete facilities, including the chapel, rooms with projectors (for memorial tributes), reception halls, and a coffee bar.
There are different kinds of funeral service options, like traditional and ecological. Their ecological funeral is a unique way to bring your loved ones back to Earth, where you can plant a tree using a biodegradable urn at their Jardin des mémoires.
All their services are customisable, which is what we find most important, to cater to various beliefs and traditions.
Unfortunately, this location doesn’t have an on-site columbarium, so you’ll have to transfer to their other funeral homes—thankfully, still located in Montreal.
Transformed this difficult day into a moment filled with dignity and comfort
“Thanks to their attention to every detail, they transformed this difficult day into a moment filled with dignity and comfort. We are deeply grateful for their professionalism and compassion during this trying time. Thank you to the entire Memoria team, and to Jonathan Robert in particular, for helping to pay tribute to our mother in such a beautiful and respectful way.”

Very impressed with the quality of service
“We used Memoria Funeral Home on Jean-Talon Street for the organization of a large funeral. We were very impressed with the quality of service, from the initial sales and planning stages to the on-site coordination, execution, and service. It was impeccable! Thank you to the entire team! It made the situation much easier. In addition to the undeniable advantages such as the modern space and parking, the price is very competitive.”
