Pros
- Has four decades of experience
- Accepts emergency services
- Convenient location
Cons
- Limited range of services
- Closed on weekends
What’s impressive about Dr. Robert Kaufmann is his expertise. He has been in the dental industry for over four decades!
Moreover, he received his dentistry license in 1980 and worked as a general dentist for four years. His training and education impressed us, too, obtaining his master’s in endodontics in 1986.
We were also pleasantly surprised that he trained under Dr. Herbert Schilder, the originator behind the widely utilized warm gutta-percha technique, a common procedure within the field of endodontics.
The good thing about The EndoExperience, Dr. Kaufmann’s clinic, is it’s a specialty place for endodontics. While we commend that, the downside is its limited range of services.
Another thing that we were a bit disappointed in is their availability. Although they accept patients most days of the week, they are closed on weekends.
On a brighter note, Dr. Kaufmann and his staff accept emergency service. We like that you can come on the same day during regular office hours—still no weekends, though!
We also appreciate their convenient location, especially since endodontic patients will most likely require a companion. The building provides parking, and Portage Avenue buses stop directly in front!
Lastly, our client surveys showed that Dr. Kaufmann and his team were highly compassionate, ensuring smooth dentist appointments! No need to be anxious about root canals!

Pros
- Won the Robert Ellison Award in Endodontics
- Well-maintained clinic
- Known for friendly approach
Cons
- Clinic is closed on weekends
- Limited range of services
Pembine Endodontics has only been around for four years, but that doesn’t diminish their expertise! Their dentist had exceptional training and educational background!
Dr. Amandeep Dosanjh, their endodontist, completed his general practice residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He then earned a certificate in endodontics and a master’s degree in science from the University of Detroit Mercy—important, eh?
On top of that, he won the Robert Ellison Award in Endodontics. Consider us thoroughly impressed!
We do like their specialization in endodontics, ensuring each patient of their extensive expertise in the area. However, the limited array of services they provide poses a minor drawback.
Plus, we commend them for their well-kept facility; everything is clean! There’s a tonne of free parking space for your companion, too!
Their clinic is, unfortunately, closed on weekends. That’s a drawback, especially since they don’t have emergency services—but they will accept you if their schedule allows
Regarding Dr. Dosanjh’s service quality, we were happy about his informative approach, ensuring patients knew the pros and cons of the procedure. That’s one of the qualities we like in a dentist!
In addition, he was praised for being gentle, which helped anxious patients—a root canal is no joke! We also like that his friendliness eased their worries away!

Pros
- Several endodontists available at the clinic
- Impressive educational background
- Known for informative approach
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Limited range of services
Prairie Endodontics garners our admiration due to their focus on the field of endodontics. We also appreciate that they don’t have only one endodontist on board.
The endodontist we want to highlight is Dr. Rodrigo Sanches Cunha, who finished his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Brazil. He also earned his doctorate at the Sao Leopoldo Mandic Centre for Dental Research—impressive background!
Seven years after his move to Winnipeg, he founded Prairie Endodontics along with fellow endodontist Dr. Simona Pesun. We appreciate that they put their specialization to private practice in Winnipeg, despite not having other services on the list.
Another impressive aspect is Dr. Cunha is president of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, which focuses on the advancement of endodontics. What’s more, he has authored many papers in peer-reviewed journals!
As for his approach, we were glad to hear many of his patients praised his chairside manner and compassion. Some even called him the best endodontist—that’s a big compliment!
Additionally, many of his patients liked his informative approach. They were kept in the loop all throughout, which we greatly appreciate.
Plus, we also appreciate that his clinic has complete technology for efficient service. Let’s not forget the cleanliness inside!
A minor drawback, however, is they are closed on weekends. But we admire them for squeezing in some patients for emergencies as long as their schedule allows.

Pros
- Wide range of services
- Open daily
- Has emergency services
Cons
- Some reports of payment issues
- Some complaints about scheduling issues
Located on Jack Blick Avenue, Polo Park Dental Centre has an impressively huge clinic. There is also plenty of parking on site, which is helpful for patients coming in with a companion, especially if sedation is needed.
We were pleased with their availability—they’re open seven days a week! Their flexible schedule is really convenient for last-minute appointments.
In addition, we appreciate their emergency services. Since they have weekend dentists, any patient can come in for severe toothache!
Another thing we like is their wide range of services, including family dentistry, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. They still specialize in endodontics, so don’t worry!
The dentist we’re highlighting is Dr. Robin Lau, who has a doctorate in dental medicine, which he earned from the University of Manitoba. We really like his extensive knowledge, even teaching at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba.
Moreover, we admire him for expanding his training and knowledge in dentistry by pursuing ongoing education. He has even travelled to the United States to learn about advanced treatments, which we believe shows his dedication to knowledge expansion.
Another positive aspect is Dr. Lau’s friendly demeanour. For us, that helps make patients comfortable throughout the whole endodontic service!
Unfortunately, some patients we conversed with had issues regarding payments and insurance billing at the clinic, which led to miscommunications. We were also disappointed about reports on incorrect scheduling issues.
5. Dr. Drew Brueckner – Greenwoods Dental Clinic

Pros
- Flexible operating hours
- Has several clinics
- Provides emergency services
- Has a wide range of services
Cons
- Staff service varies per location
- Some reports of payment issues
One of our favourite aspects about Greenwoods Dental Clinic is their flexible hours. Their Portage Avenue clinic is open six days a week, while their McPhillips Street location is open every day!
Plus, they have emergency services for severe tooth pain, bleeding, broken tooth, and infection. We highly appreciate this since they cater to many patients.
Another plus in our books is their wide range of services. Aside from endodontics, they offer cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, dentures, and pediatric dentistry.
Their endodontic specialist is Drew Brueckner, whose background caught our attention. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Manitoba in 1992.
Additionally, he focused on general dentistry for 14 years, from 1992 to 2006. Throughout that period, he also taught in the undergraduate endodontics program at the University of Manitoba—impressive!
For over a decade, he has focused on endodontics, which we greatly appreciate! His stay at Greenwoods Dental Clinic gives his patients access to a variety of other dental services as well.
However, due to the several locations, their service quality varies depending on the staff. Some patients weren’t quite happy with their communication skills.
We were also dismayed to hear about payment complaints. Some patients were overcharged, which took a while and lots of phone calls to resolve.
