Pros

  • Has 2 branches
  • Has a wide range of services
  • Offers virtual or in-clinic free consultation
  • Provides skin cancer treatments

Cons

  • Longer wait time
  • Complaints about customer service

Lucere Dermatology & Laser Clinic provides full dermatology services to its two branches in Edmonton. It has a “Look Good, Not Done” philosophy, making sure its clients look their best.

It was founded by a board-certified dermatologist named Dr. Zaki Taher. His specialisation is in medical and cosmetic dermatology.

Additionally, he focuses on precancer and skin cancer treatments. He’s also certified in skin transplant surgery.

You’ll be glad to see a wide variety of services, from simple skin rejuvenation to breast cancer surveillance.

We think the many procedures they offer can help clients avoid the stress of going to multiple clinics for other services.

Also, we appreciate the complimentary consultation that you can book online. To add, you have the option of doing a virtual or in-clinic consult.

However, we’d like to see an improvement in their booking system. Some clients experienced a long wait time because of unnecessary delays.

We think they can also improve customer service, especially for clients nervous about a procedure. The clients we talked with hoped for more patience and to minimise the sales talk.

On a positive note, their happy clients liked the helpful staff regarding treatment plans. They were friendly and made sure to give their clients their full attention.

Moreover, they actually have skin products under their name. If these products work for you, you can purchase them online conveniently.

Finally, we like the wide selection of procedures they offer. But we feel an improvement in customer care is needed.

Pros

  • More than 15 years in the industry
  • Has a wide range of services
  • Offers phototherapy
  • Nurses were observant

Cons

  • Can improve on customer service
  • Issues with wait time despite an appointment

In 2005, Stratica Dermatology was founded by Dr. Norman Wasel. It was previously called Stratica Medical and now offers cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatology.

They offer a free consultation for cosmetic dermatology. However, you must sign up for a MyHealthAccess account before getting an appointment.

We appreciate that three dermatologists and two medical practitioners are on their team. We believe this can help clients find the doctor they will feel comfortable with.

Further, the website has complete information on the team’s credentials. So, before booking an appointment, you can check the details first to ensure you’re satisfied with their qualifications.

Aside from the various services available, they also offer phototherapy. This is worth mentioning because not all dermatology clinics offer this procedure.

Moreover, this procedure helps with skin conditions caused by the immune system’s overreaction. In addition, this treatment can help with psoriasis and eczema.

Unfortunately, we think there needs to be an improvement in customer service. There’s also a bit of waiting time for some clients despite having an appointment.

On a positive note, some clients told us that the dermatologists were helpful and attentive. The nurses were also observant, especially after the procedure.

The clinic was also clean and orderly. We think an organised area can help make clients feel comfortable while waiting for the procedure.

Finally, we recommend driving to the Stratica Dermatology clinic earlier if you have an appointment during rush hours. Or else you may have difficulty finding a parking spot near the clinic.

Pros

  • Offers a wide range of procedures
  • Clinic has a pleasing environment
  • Doctors known for good bedside manner
  • Has a skin cancer specialist

Cons

  • Instances of appointment issues
  • Some rebooking difficulty

Edmonton Dermatology & Skin Surgery Centre is a referral-based clinic that specialises in medical skin conditions. The clinic is divided into two: a skin surgery centre and a cosmetics centre.

Dr. Muba Taher, a board-certified dermatologic surgeon and skin cancer specialist, leads the clinic to give patients the best care and treatment.

As we mentioned, the centre only accepts patients with referrals from licensed physicians in Canada. The staff will check the clients’ conditions based on urgency before you get a confirmed appointment.

But cosmetic treatments don’t need a referral. Just remember that their physicians will assess your condition first before giving you a schedule.

We think it’s notable that Edmonton Dermatology & Skin Surgery Centre has state-of-the-art equipment. Also, past clients liked the clean and pleasing environment of the clinic.

Unfortunately, there were cases of appointment issues with a few clients, where they waited for quite a while before getting a response. There were also a couple of problems with rebooking difficulty.

The good thing is these situations don’t seem to happen often because many of their clients got quick appointments after sending in their referrals.

Additionally, past clients liked the dermatologists’ bedside manner. Despite the nervousness of a skin procedure, the doctors explained the whole process gently.

We want to mention that the cosmetic and skin surgery centres have different hours. We find this understandable since they’re on an appointment basis only for medical procedures.

So, if you’re planning on checking out Edmonton Dermatology & Skin Surgery Centre, make sure to call the correct number for your specific treatment.

Pros

  • Open since 1984
  • Has multiple locations
  • Has a clinical research unit
  • Offers Mohs surgery
  • Provides UV therapy treatment

Cons

  • Cases of long wait time
  • Limited availability for some procedures

Rejuvenation Dermatology Clinic has been serving its patients since 1984. It currently has multiple locations in Alberta, as well as in British Columbia and Ontario.

It has quite a big team of dermatologists and general practitioners spread across its branches. Each one has the necessary information that patients want to know before going in for a procedure.

It’s worth highlighting that the clinic has a clinical research unit. It performs clinical research and trials to provide patients with better treatment alternatives.

Furthermore, there’s a variety of treatments and procedures available, whether it’s a simple facial or laser treatment.

Another thing worth emphasising is they do Mohs Micrographic Surgery. It’s a procedure used to treat specific types of skin cancer.

However, this isn’t available in all locations. Only two doctors at Rejuvenation can currently do the surgery – in Calgary and Oakville.

Moreover, they specialise in UV therapy for psoriasis and eczema. But again, it’s only available in specific locations.

Moreover, we think they can improve by reducing the wait times for their patients, especially since the clients have appointments.

On a positive note, the clients we talked with praised the staff’s friendly and compassionate approach. They were also efficient and helpful regarding any inquiries.

Lastly, their online shop offers free shipping throughout Canada if you need skincare products.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Has a large clinic
  • Has a double-certified dermatologist
  • Offers a financing plan

Cons

  • A tad pricey
  • $2,500 minimum before acquiring financing plan

RejuvaDERM Cosmetic Dermatology & Laser Centre offers a variety of skin care treatments to give its clients confidence through healthy skin. It currently has two branches, one in Edmonton and one in Grand Prairie.

The clinic is headed by Dr. Eric Wong, a double-certified dermatologist who can practice in Canada and the United States.

Moreover, over 20 treatment rooms are available at the Edmonton clinic, giving more opportunities for client bookings. It also has state-of-the-art equipment and specific rooms for phototherapy, laser, and surgical treatments.

We appreciate the convenient location because of the nearby shops and restaurants. Also, there’s complimentary two-hour underground parking, so you won’t have to worry about scrambling to get a space.

Sadly, the clients we talked with mentioned that the treatments were a tad pricey. On the other hand, they offer a financing plan through Paybright.

Additionally, they offer 0% interest plans and automatic payments. But you must acquire more than $2,500 in products or services to qualify for the plan.

As for their customer service, past clients appreciated the thorough and seamless consultation. They mentioned that the appointment felt natural and sincere.

What’s more, the doctor was professional and made the clients feel comfortable. The nurses were also extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

In conclusion, RejuvaDERM is a good choice for various cosmetic procedures. They just don’t offer a tonne of medical treatments, if that’s what you need.
