Pros

  • 2023 Consumer Choice Award winner
  • Has affordable prices
  • Has 24/7 emergency services
  • Open daily

Cons

  • Not ideal for large projects

One of our top picks for crane services in Toronto is Tony & Sons Cranes. What we like most about them is their straightforward service, and even renting a piece of equipment is simple and easy to do!

We were also impressed by them winning the 2023 Consumer Choice Award for Business Excellence. It shows how happy their past clients have been with their customer service, which certainly speaks about how outstanding they are!

Upon checking them out further, we noted that they specialize solely in mobile crane rental. And while we appreciate their fleet allows more clients to hire their services, we found them not ideal for large projects.

Nevertheless, we appreciate how well-maintained their cranes are. We really admire Tony & Sons Cranes for keeping their trucks clean, which shows how good they take care of them, no?

Plus, their crane rental services are pretty affordable. Although it will still depend on the job, we found their prices fair.

It’s also a massive advantage that their crane operators are all experienced, which is one of the most important factors for us. It ensures a safe and smooth sailing job, which we give them points for.

And finally, we were thrilled that they are open for business every single day. They even have 24/7 emergency crane services in Toronto—convenient!

Pros

  • 2023 HomeStars Best of the Best winner
  • Offers specialty moving
  • Owns many different types of cranes
  • Highly skilled operators

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No emergency services

One of the most incredible aspects we noted about Braymore Crane Rental, Piano Movers & Storage is their years in the business. They were established in 1981—that’s an impressive four decades!

Though, it’s not just their years in the business we like, but their customer service as well. They were even recognized by HomeStars, winning the 2023 Best of the Best Award.

Although they started with and are pretty known for piano moving, it’s nice that they’ve expanded their services. Now, they can lift heavy items from the ground to the seventh floor.

But what makes them stand out is their specialty moving. We were impressed at how they can safely move delicate items, including statues, hot tubs, and machinery using their cranes!

We found their fleet incredible as well. They have mini cranes, knuckle cranes, and balcony lifters, which means that they can do tasks that standard types of cranes won’t allow them.

Let’s not forget how efficient Braymore Crane Rental is because of their well-maintained fleet. They can handle even complex tasks safely.

But, also, we want to applaud their highly skilled operators. Moving a piano from the ground to the fifth-floor balcony is impressive, isn’t it?

Although we really think they’re one of the best crane services in Toronto, there’s a downside. They’re closed on weekends and don’t have emergency services, sadly.

Pros

  • Has a large fleet
  • Well-equipped company
  • Available 24/7
  • Ideal for large projects
  • Provides free site reviews

Cons

  • Office is in Markham

One of our favourite crane rental companies in Toronto is Earl’s Crane Rentals. That’s because they’re like an all-in-one store for hoisting needs!

Their fleet of cranes is a pretty long list. They have an all-terrain hydraulic, truck-mount hydraulic, swing cab boom truck, carry deck boom truck, and more. Whew!

Part of the reason we included them on our list is because of how well they maintain their cranes. From what we’ve seen, their trucks always have proper rigging to hoist large and heavy objects safely and effectively.

In fact, they even have equipment to transport massive items, even a silo! It’s one of our favourite aspects, too, because they can work on both small and large projects.

Earl’s Crane Rentals also earns points in our book because of their highly experienced team. Their licensed and trained crane operators can safely transport and hoist heavy and tall equipment, including cellular towers!

It’s a plus that their operators will provide a site review at no charge at all. As we see it, this shows their commitment to good customer service.

However, their office is in Markham. It’s not a major problem unless you have an appointment in the middle of Toronto’s rush hour traffic. Still, they’re available 24/7 daily, which makes up for not having an office in Toronto.

Pros

  • Available 24/7
  • Has a large fleet
  • Ideal for large projects
  • Has satellite yards in Toronto

Cons

  • Office is in Hamilton

Our next top pick is Elite Crane Rentals, an Ontario company that was incorporated in 2015. Since then, they’ve established strong working relationships with various construction companies, for which we applaud them.

Furthermore, we think that aspect cements their position in the industry. In our opinion, the trust they’ve received also shows their excellent skills in operating heavy machinery!

Upon checking them out further, we found that Elite Crane Rentals is ideal for large projects due to their multiple crane fleet. They carry various types of well-maintained mobile cranes to safely hoist heavy items.

Some of their trucks are spyder cranes, carry deck cranes, rough terrain cranes, crawler cranes, truck-mounted cranes, boom trucks, and all-terrain cranes. We strongly believe this list makes them an excellent choice for any transporting needs.

What gives them an edge compared to other crane rental companies is their transportation service. If you need to transport heavy cargo, it’s nice that they can provide just that, given their established connections with many trucking terminals.

Another advantage they have is their accessibility because they’re open any day of the week. They’re also an ideal service to call for emergencies because of their 24/7 office hours.

Their availability is nice, actually, since their office is in Hamilton, which is pretty far away from Toronto. Regardless, we appreciate that they have satellite yards in Toronto.

Pros

  • Has access to a large fleet
  • Ideal for large-scale projects
  • Assists in planning stages
  • Has decades-long client relationships

Cons

  • Not available on weekends

One of the reasons we like Superior Crane Canada is their work ethic. Their dedication to providing effective and efficient service is what drew us in!

They’re a crane and rigging subcontracting company and have connections to many crane services. This is a positive, actually, because it allows them to give their clients the quickest crane rental instead of waiting for a job to finish first.

As a result, they’ve earned the trust of many clients—some have been working with them for decades! As we see it, it shows their incredible and consistent service.

It’s also impressive that they have access to so many cranes, which is convenient for clients. They have work baskets, scissor lifts, rigging, millwright, and various mobile cranes—they’re ideal for large projects, no?

We also noted that safety is clearly an important aspect to them as well. They have what’s called “The Complete Project Solution,” which provides safe and effective planning and solutions for every site.

Furthermore, we love this service because it includes site preparation to avoid potential financial losses due to delays. They will also assist in paperwork for the project to move quickly.

Although we love everything about Superior Crane Canada so far, there’s a bump we encountered. Unfortunately, they’re only open five days a week, which limits their availability for us.
