If you’re ever craving for some doughy goodness like bagels, you have to check out Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. 

They have two spots: one smack in the middle of town and another just outside. The first time we tried to go, it was packed, and we were in a hurry, but we love bagels so much that we made sure to go back.

Their menu is awesome, with flavors like maple and rosemary sea salt. We tried a bunch of stuff and loved it all, especially the sesame bagels with cream cheese and butter. You can also grab a breakfast sandwich on a bagel or swing by later for a lunch sandwich!

Pro Tip: 

If you’re visiting on a weekend or during peak hours, call ahead to place your order. It’ll save you time and ensure you get your favorite bagel without the wait.

You have to check out Chez Francois Restaurant if you’re in the mood for French cuisine in Canmore. They serve breakfast all day, which is perfect for our family because we could eat breakfast at every meal when we’re on vacation.

Not to mention, their menu is to line up for! They have everything from egg dishes to smoothies, crepes, French toast, sandwiches, and croissants. There’s something for everyone, so no one will leave hungry.

In the summer, you can sit inside or enjoy your meal on their patio with a beautiful view of the Canadian Rockies. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy some good food.

Pro Tip: 

Try to go for breakfast on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowd. You’ll get a better seat and faster service, especially if you want to enjoy the patio view.

The JK Bakery is one of those places that you should prioritize putting on top of your list of breakfast hangouts to visit because both the ambience and food are totally worth checking out! 

Walking in, you’ll literally be greeted by the sight (and smell) of fresh bread, pastries, donuts, and German treats like homemade pretzels and apple strudel. The cinnamon rolls were almost as big as our meager hands too!

We had such a hard time choosing because everything looked incredible, but the staff were super patient and friendly. If you’re ever in Canmore, you have to make time for JK Bakery. It’s one of the best spots for pastries.

Pro Tip: 

Visit early in the morning for the freshest selection and to avoid the mid-morning rush. Plus, you’ll get first dibs on their amazing cinnamon rolls!

Blondies Cafe

Don’t worry, this cafe isn’t exclusive to blonds (coming from a brunette who enjoyed every second here), because the Blondies Cafe is another place that’ll brighten up your morning breakfasts! 

As for the menu, it’s simple but packed with tasty options. You can grab a delicious coffee, smoothies, wraps, muffins, and parfaits for breakfast.

But what we love about Blondies is their casual outdoor space with bright blue chairs and picnic tables. It’s super family-friendly, and there’s even a play train for kids to climb on. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with the family.

Pro Tip: 

Try their smoothies; they’re made with fresh ingredients and are absolutely refreshing during your morning sagas!

Sage Bistro

If you’re specifically looking for an amazing view, then you’ve got to check out Sage Bistro when you’re in Canmore. 

It’s a local favorite for a la carte brunch, and in the summer, you can sit out on their lovely patio. They serve brunch only on weekends from 10 AM to 2 PM, so plan accordingly—so this detail is good to know if you’re up for late breakfasts!

First thing you’ll want to do is check out their awesome brunch cocktail menu. The Pimms Cup, Mimosa, and Morning Bliss are all worth trying. 

Their food menu is great too. You start with a base of eggs, potatoes, and toast, and then add your choice of meat. If that doesn’t hit the spot, they’ve got pancakes, quiche, and omelets.

One thing you can’t miss is their famous Train Wreck breakfast. It’s a huge spread of eggs, meats, pancakes, toast, French toast, fruit, and potatoes. Perfect for sharing with the whole table.

It’s one of those spots the locals rave about (and we personally do as well). They’ve got an amazing coffee and juice menu to kickstart your morning, and the best part? They serve breakfast all day, which is perfect for our family since we love breakfast at any hour.

They have everything from traditional Huevos Rancheros to a vegan version, and their veggie omelets are a hit with vegetarians. 

One thing that stands out is their kid-friendly breakfast options. Not every place thinks of the little ones, so it’s a nice bonus.

Pro Tip: 

Don’t leave without trying their Huevos Rancheros—both the traditional and vegan versions are fantastic. And if you’re there with kids, the staff is super friendly and accommodating, making it a stress-free experience.
