Ice Barbershop is one of the most hip barbershops in Montreal, and it definitely knows its identity. Instead of the traditional barbershop look, this establishment takes the form of a high-end car detailing garage, featuring bright overhanging lights, blacked-out walls, and blue epoxy floors.

However, this same design could intimidate potential customers from older age groups or those who prefer a more traditional-looking barbershop. We do wish they could take a chance, as this place gives off a friendly, welcoming vibe.

This barbershop also features a wide array of stylists, each of whom specializes in different hair types and styles—including braiding! We also like how they make every service feel premium by using high-end shears, clippers, and styling products.

They’re also in the loop of trendy haircuts while still offering timeless styles. We’ve seen proven works from previous clients, and all of them looked clean.

Having this many barbers also allows booking to be extremely easy. They’ve even affixed an arcade in the shop to make waiting more bearable.

We always appreciate a premium haircut experience, and The Common Room has nailed this down perfectly, with its plush leather seats and beautiful interior decor. At the same time, it doesn’t feel intimidating because of the warm, welcoming staff and barbers.

From what we’ve gathered, these barbers are knowledgeable as well, often offering recommendations based on the client’s style and face shape. Clients also appreciated how they felt listened to during the consultation, resulting in their style being nailed to a tee.

The overall experience also feels premium, as the barbers move with finesse, whether with their clippers, razors, or scissors. We reached out to those who availed of the beard-trimming service, and they told us the barber was extremely precise during the process.

We also like how accessible the barbershop is, being located in Downtown Montreal, and having an online booking option. Our only wish is to say the same about their prices, as they’re a bit pricey compared to other barbershops.

La Section Barbershop immediately caught our attention with its striking white interior, streetwear store, and arcade. If you take all these away, however, you’ll still be left with a solid barbershop, equipped with experienced stylists.

We want to give these barbers their flowers because of their friendly attitude, often striking up conversations with their clients and listening to their stories. Also, their workmanship is impressive, as seen in their portfolios of varied haircuts and hairstyles, including different braids.

However, their 24K package piqued our interest the most. It’s an all-in package that includes a facial scrub, shampoo, and a black mask, along with a haircut and shave.

We reached out to previous clients, and they told us they keep returning for this package because of its premium, relaxing feel.

During our interviews, we noticed a handful of complaints about delays in scheduled appointments. After seeing how each barber takes their time with each client, however, we immediately understood why.

Gentlemen007 keeps the clean, dapper look of traditional barbershops alive while adding a premium touch with elegant interior decor. Also, they offer a lavish gentleman’s package, which includes a hot-towel massage, a haircut and style, and shampoo.

They also offer traditional haircuts and beard trims, and from our interviews, they never seem to miss. For instance, people with different hair types said that their barbers know exactly what they’re doing, whether it be with curly, wavy, straight, or the dreaded “Asian” hair.

Aside from being highly skilled, we also like how the barbers radiate warmth, with regulars stating how they’re always treated like a close friend. They also listen attentively to clients’ requests and provide their input to get the best style possible.

Our only gripe is the occasional long waiting times, as per our interviewees. Fortunately, the barbershop offers a waiting area that features a huge flat-screen TV and a couple of comfy couches.

Barbier Yaniso was recommended to us because of its friendly atmosphere, courtesy of the staff and barbers. Previous clients told us how they immediately felt at ease upon entering the store, as they were welcomed with open arms.

We also asked about the haircut service itself, and they had nothing but praise for the quality of their workmanship. They mostly attributed their successful haircuts to the barbers, who took the time to listen to their needs during the initial consultation.

Clients also told us how each barber moved with the utmost precision. Those who had taper fades said that everything, from the height to the thickness of their sides, was done accurately based on their preferences.

Getting a haircut here is a memorable experience as well, thanks to the cool and modern interior decor. 

However, we would’ve liked a more spacious and comfy waiting area. Moreover, in today’s digital age, we think that having an online booking system should come standard.
