Pros

  • Open daily
  • Specializes in eco-friendly excavation method
  • Has emergency services

Cons

  • Young company
  • Limited services

Revival Hydrovac only opened in 2019. Despite being a young company, its owner has been in the industry for over ten years.

For us, the owner’s years of experience are crucial when managing an excavation company. We’re even more impressed when we learned he manages the day-to-day activities.

Notably, Revival Hydrovac has a team fully trained in the industry, which is important in an excavation company. Plus, they’re well-trained in safety, ensuring they’re well-versed in safety courses.

On top of that, they have WCB coverage, which benefits the workers in case of accidents on the job.

Overall, we think their focus on safety is worth noting because excavations come with dangerous risks.

Another positive aspect that we like is they’re available every day! Let’s not forget that you can call them for emergency services on their dispatch number.

However, the main reason we’re featuring Revival Hydrovac is it specializes in, well… hydro-excavating! Our team appreciates that this is an environmentally friendly method of breaking up the soil.

In addition, it’s a safer method for piping systems. That’s essential because no one wants to have damaged pipes!

Our surveys showed that the team handles small and medium-sized projects. The reason we like this is that it shows their dedication to helping their clients.

But a downside we found is the limited services, which is most probably due to being a young company. Also, some clients may feel iffy hiring them for a big job since they’ve only been around for less than five years.

Pros

  • Works with a wide range of clients
  • Provides various services
  • Offers flexible pricing
  • Has a fleet of equipment

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No emergency services

One of the factors we like about George’s Ditching & Trucking is it caters to a wide range of clients.

From what we’ve seen, it has vast experience working on residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Moreover, we like that its team works on small and large projects!

George’s Ditching & Trucking has a fleet of equipment that can work on any type of project, which definitely benefits all clients. This also enables them to handle excavation jobs effectively.

For us, this factor is highly important because inadequate equipment can be dangerous and won’t work efficiently.

Additionally, we like that the team has a combined experience of over 40 years. In our books, this speaks about their expertise in the excavation industry.

As for the pricing, we were pretty surprised at their flexibility! They offer hourly rates, which is great for residential projects since these are usually small jobs.

Furthermore, they also offer contract pricing. Now, this benefits commercial and industrial clients because they usually have bigger worksites.

Our team was also glad to learn that they offer a wide variety of services. They do infills, sewer line replacements, demolitions, abatements, tank removal, and even snow removal!

We want to note that they have tandem trucks as part of their fleet. We believe these are useful and can make hauling materials fast and easy.

On the downside, they’re closed on weekends. Also, we found it disappointing that they don’t have emergency services in case of unexpected incidents.

Our team was quite impressed! We think it’s a good thing that people can call a company they can rely on regarding many types of excavation services.

Overall, it’s their expertise and reliability that we’re so impressed with. Tristar Services also has 24/7 service, so you can contact them even after business hours — nice!

During our research, we found that the Tristar team responded quickly to their clients. Some even complimented the team because they arrived within one hour of the call!

In addition, they were effective with their work. Others mentioned that the team was able to finish small jobs in a short time.

Another thing we appreciate is their notably varied fleet of equipment. Their trucks can handle small and big jobs, which is a necessary skill in an excavation service.

Given their qualifications, we’re glad that Tristar Services specializes in hydro evacuation. This allows clients to opt for a safer and gentler method that lessens the chance of damaging underground utilities.

Although some clients liked their service, we heard some different opinions, which slightly disappointed us.

The clients we surveyed also mentioned that the Tristar Services team should have been cleaner during the project. Moreover, some were disappointed about the messy site after the work, especially in residential homes.

Also, we think they could improve and be quick in handling customer complaints. For us, customer service is an important part of a service.

Cons

As for their services, they do commercial and basement excavation. Furthermore, they also focus on landscaping for residential clients.

Additionally, commercial clients will be glad to hear about Rumile Contracting because it has a team equipped to handle different types of jobs, whether minor or not!

It was also impressive that they have complete trucks and equipment that are well-maintained. We believe those are essential to have a safe and efficient service.

On the downside, they are unavailable on weekends for excavation. On the other hand, their garden centre is usually open for those who need landscaping supplies.

Also, many excavation companies in Edmonton are open on an emergency basis. That’s why we were quite disappointed that they don’t offer this.

Lastly, we like that they offer reasonable prices — that’s good value for money, so that’s a benefit we love!

Cons

  • Physical office is not in Edmonton
  • Has limited services

Strathcona Excavating has provided excavation services in Edmonton and its surrounding areas for over three decades. That expertise is one of the factors our team looked for to ensure quality.

Our team found it commendable that Strathcona Excavating and its team focus on health and safety in the workplace. This is an integral part of an excavation company to ensure each worker is safe on the worksite.

Moreover, they are COR-certified and have WCB coverage. For us, this speaks about their commitment to safety, which can give you peace of mind as a client.
