On top of that, their focus on finishing and details is impressive. The homeowners we chatted with have been satisfied with the consistency of the work and are glad they didn’t have to hire another contractor for matching aesthetics.

They work with projects of all sizes, from small holes and patches to full commercial build-outs. And this accessibility has been a lifesaver, particularly with clients who have small or minor requests but don’t want to worry about minimum project cost.

Now that we’re talking about costs, you do have to contact them first and arrange for a virtual or in-person assessment to get a quote since they’re rates aren’t readily available. The good thing is that they’re highly responsive, even more so for emergency requests.

Fonseca specializes in drywall, painting, priming and textured removal, so you get both structural and aesthetic work in one contractor. 

On a technical perspective, we love how their repair services include common drywall damages like cracks, moisture or mold damage, furniture scuff, and even punch holes. And from what we’ve gathered, older homes in particular have moisture issues that are trickier to repair.

If appearance matters (which it often does), their attention to detail to pull off projects so that walls look smooth and clean is a strong plus. For instance, their team easily navigates through texture removal, skim coating, and more.

Sundays won’t be a good time, though, since they’re closed. You’ll have to figure out a suitable schedule if you have a busy week but still want to be there during the project. 

But hey, their satisfaction guarantee is another feature we appreciate. We love how they’ll walk you through the project after completion to make sure you’re happy with the results.

Also, after chatting with some homeowners and a handful of business owners, we noted how Universal 5 Star sticks to the quotes they give and finishes the job according to schedule. It’s a big relief if you want predictable costs and no last-minute surprises.

What we like most about them is that they can assist you in working with insurance companies. It’s a big help for homeowners needing drywall repairs after accidents, leaks, or other covered damages. 

On the flipside, there’s not much warranty coverage on their side, so you’ll have to discuss your options in case something goes wrong before committing to them.
