Pros
- Body positivity approach
- Guilt-free
- Experienced registered dietitians
Cons
- A bit pricey
Being around since 2000, Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. was an immediate prospect when we were making this list just because of longevity. Upon digging deeper, we found many reasons why they’ve become successful pioneers in the industry.
From what we’ve seen, one of the main reasons is their body-positivity approach to nutrition. We appreciate how they offered guilt-free counselling that comes complete with preventive measures and meal planning to ensure optimal health for their patients.
We also appreciate their service that showcases their guilt-free nature is the intuitive eating program, which features a body-neutral coaching program.
Here, they assist patients emotionally by letting them break free from diets without shame instead of forcing them to eat specific dishes.
And, with an experienced eating counsellor acting as the co-pilot, the patient is able to make peace not only with their body but with their overall health as well.
We think this is a more gentle approach to a healthy lifestyle, which is a major green flag in our books.
On the downside, our only gripe with Health Stand Nutrition Consulting is the rates of their offerings, as we felt that they were a tad pricier than the other dieticians in the area.
Nonetheless, we love how their services were widely varied, covering areas such as sports nutrition, intuitive eating, digestive and other medical issues—perfect for those looking for a one-stop-shop!

Next on our list is Energize Nutrition, a one-woman team that’s been helping people around Calgary with their diet struggles. She’s able to do this by providing non-guilt solutions through her world-class coaching.
We love how her nutrition coaching program is 100% hands-on, which is also impressive to see considering how many clients she has.
Plus, it’s worth noting that each patient will get a personalised program, as she’ll base her coaching on each patient’s current struggles and goals.
We also like that she offers cooking courses that can change the lifestyle of her patients drastically. It’s these kinds of services that we appreciate the most, as they provide patients with new learnings that they can apply to their daily lives.
If we could change one thing, though, we would’ve liked some more services added to the list. It would be great if they could widen their range so that they could cater to more patients.
Another thing that we see bothering some people about Energize Nutrition is that it doesn’t have a physical clinic. So, this is something to consider for those who appreciate a face-to-face approach.

Pros
- Expertise in digestive health
- Widely varied counselling programs
Cons
- Above average prices
For nutrition counselling, Ignite Nutrition Inc. is a top option in Calgary! In our books, this is because they feature Canada-registered dietitians who can provide their patients with personalized one-on-one counselling to ensure maximum results.
One particular thing we like about their counselling package is that they teach their patients the common misconceptions about food. We think taking this approach makes them more confident about the food they eat and eliminates the guilt that comes with it.
Notably, Ignite Nutrition offers this service in either its ala carte or package form, with the former costing CAD190 and the package being CAD180 per appointment.
We think having the ala carte option is great, as it lets newcomers dip their toes before going for the full package.
Although they offer various counselling packages, we noticed that their main area of expertise is digestive health.
We say this because they offer different solutions for various kinds of digestive issues, from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) to celiac disease, reflux and more.
The only downside we can see about Ignite Nutrition is their pricing, and we’re not alone in thinking this. Our surveys showed that a few people agree they felt overcharged for the same services that can be availed from other dietitians in the area.

Pros
- Open on Saturdays
- Widely varied services
- Expert dietitians on board
Cons
- Expensive
- Longer than the usual split-type aircon units
During our research, Nutriprocan Dietitians was one of the names that kept popping up—plus, close friends have recommended them as well! We then took a closer look, as it’s by far the most complete dietitian we’ve seen in Calgary.
For starters, we think Nutriprocan Dieticians stands out because they feature several programs and counselling that target different kinds of disorders and issues.
For instance, they offer a comprehensive weight-loss program, which they claim can let patients lose anywhere from 5 to 60 pounds.
What’s more impressive about this is that no strict diets are involved, as everything in this program relies on science and a better understanding of food.
If you’re a parent who’s struggling to feed your kids, you can appreciate their picky eaters program.
We like how this handy program will help your children develop a healthy relationship with food so that they can defeat being picky eaters and reach peak growth for their age.
Our only issue we had is that their rates are slightly on the pricey side, which could be a turn-off for some patients. If you can look past that, however, you’re looking at a solid dietitian clinic that provides high-quality services.

Pros
- Offers counselling for different age groups
- Comprehensive counselling packages
Cons
- Slightly limited services
If you’re looking for a dietitian for your whole family, The Centre for Family Nutrition on 19th Ave is worth checking out.
This centre features a single dietitian, but we think that’s not a problem! From what we’ve seen, Sarah Remmer is highly experienced not only with diets but with families as well.
We think that her being a mother immediately gives her added experience in dealing with infants, toddlers and even teenagers.
Plus, many people we surveyed appreciated how Sarah offers an in-depth nutrition counselling package that consists of consultations, follow-up sessions and of course, constant one-on-one support.
Another aspect we like about Sarah is that she also makes herself accessible by featuring email support, which patients can use to ask any questions about their health.
Aside from that, we think it’s so helpful that she provides helpful digital tools like recipes and handouts to help patients continue their fitness journey long after consultations.
However, something we see hindering other people from trying her services is the steep price points for her packages. Also, her recipe books and meal courses aren’t that cheap.
Moreover, people we’ve interviewed were quick to point out that her services outside of nutritional counselling are quite sparse, so we hope Sarah can add more services in the future.
Overall, we still think that The Centre For Family Nutrition Ltd. is a great option, especially for pregnant women and children. We think Sarah’s counselling skills are top-notch and we can see why a lot of families have recommended her services.
