Pros
- Has millwork services
- Fast modular construction jobs
- Constructed famous establishments
- Professional and efficient team
Cons
- No residential services
BUILD IT has been around for more than a decade, and we love that they’ve worked and completed over 600 projects since then. For us, it speaks about the trust they’ve earned from Toronto residents.
We also love their many offerings, including project consulting, management, and general contracting. They’re like a one-stop shop for construction, eh?
Plus, it’s nice they’re also experienced in modular construction. Their team builds the components off-site, while another will work on the foundation on-site, which makes the turnaround time a lot faster.
Even better, they also specialize in custom millwork, which means unique designs for cabinets, drawers, furniture, and basically, anything made from wood. It’s also remarkable that they have a dedicated millwork team to ensure consistent quality.
However, we found a slight downside. BUILD IT only specializes in commercial projects, limiting their client list.
On the other hand, they’re really useful for commercial projects. They’ve impressively constructed various famous establishments, such as Chick-fil-A on Queen Street, Henry’s on Church Street, and Krispy Kreme on Kingson Road.
On top of that, they worked in various industries, including retail, pharmaceutical, childcare, and sports. For us, that speaks about their top-notch design skills.
Lastly, we commend the BUILD IT team for their professionalism and efficiency. Based on our surveys, they were also really responsive, which resulted in a smooth experience.

Pros
- 2023 Best of Houzz Service winner
- Works on various house styles
- Sticks within the budget
- Able to offer reasonable rates
Cons
- No commercial projects
What we like about Astaneh Construction is their incredible service quality. As evidence of this, they won the Best of Houzz Service Award in 2023.
They specialize in residential projects, and unfortunately, that also means they don’t take commercial clients. That was a bit of a bummer, considering their top-notch craftsmanship.
Something we admire is their business expansion. At first, they only did renovations, but now, they’ve added building new homes.
Plus, they’re experts at constructing any kind of home design, from traditional to contemporary. Frankly, we loved their stunning designs and material choices.
Part of their services is project management, which makes construction work a seamless experience for clients. It also lessens the headaches for clients since the team has been known to always be on top of things, according to our surveys.
We were also pleased to learn how considerate they were about the budgets. It’s nice that they know a bunch of suppliers, ensuring clients get a tonne of material choices at affordable prices.
In addition to that, we appreciate Astaneh Construction for sticking within the budget. In case there are a few hiccups regarding the cost, it’s nice they always inform the clients.
The final highlight of this entry is their incredible attention to detail. Our team was surprised at their impeccable attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Pros
- Offers many residential services
- Has excavation and demolition services
- Sustainability advocate
- Provides cost-effective solutions
Cons
- No commercial projects
JP Lucky Construction And Roofing is like an all-in-one shop for any construction job, which is one of the reasons we included them in our list. They have many offerings, which makes them a convenient service in Toronto.
Their services include custom homes, new additions, foundations, custom home carpentry, roofing, and fencing and decking. It’s nice they can be someone to call for small or large construction projects.
What sets them apart from other construction companies on our list is their excavation and demolition services. Since they’re licensed to do these jobs, clients won’t need to fork over money for another company.
But here’s where the twist comes in: they don’t cater to commercial projects. Still, we think they’re excellent as a go-to service for residential clients.
As a sustainability advocate, JP Lucky Construction And Roofing makes constant efforts to reduce their carbon footprint and that of their clients. We appreciate that they also construct homes that are energy-efficient, making future monthly bills lower for clients.
Not to mention that they focus on cost-effective solutions. Most of their clients were really happy with their quotations and their ability to stick within the budget without compromising materials and workmanship.
Overall, we believe JP Lucky Construction And Roofing is one of the best in Toronto. Plus, their team’s incredible communication skills are even a boosting aspect!

Pros
- Award-winning company
- Caters to residential and commercial clients
- Accepts small and large projects
- Has an online progress software
Cons
- Doesn’t focus on large commercial new builds
An award-winning company in Toronto that earned a spot on our list is Novacon Construction Inc. In our opinion, the recognition they earned shows their skills, including the HomeStars Best of Award in 2021.
Additionally, they won the Best of Houzz Service in 2021 and 2022. They also earned the Best of Houzz Service not once but three times, in 2013, 2016, and 2020.
Another incredible factor about Novacon Construction is they cater to residential and commercial clients, which not all companies in Toronto do. Part of the reason we appreciate that is because they can serve a long list of clients in the GTA.
However, there’s a slight hiccup. They mainly specialize in commercial renovations and don’t really focus on large commercial new builds.
Nonetheless, their commercial renovation services are available for small and large properties. That makes up for it, no?
We highly appreciate their wide range of services, allowing them to become a full-service provider. They’ll work on the architectural aspect, design the place, and build.
Plus, we love their customer-centered approach. They even have an online software that lets clients check the project’s progress any time of day.
Lastly, regarding the fees, we commend their transparency. They provide detailed pricing structures to make sure the client knows where every dollar goes.

Pros
- Available daily
- Has a 24/7 emergency line
- Provides eco-friendly solutions
- Caters to residential and commercial clients
Cons
- Only hires sub-contractors
- Not for new commercial builds
A Toronto construction company we like is Mr. General Contractor & Renovations. They’re easy to reach, given the daily availability.
It’s also an advantage that they have a 24/7 emergency line. It’s certainly a unique feature since not all companies have that.
It’s an incredible factor that they specialize in both small and large-scale construction projects for residential and commercial clients. For us, that’s a massive advantage since it makes them accessible to many in Toronto and the GTA.
They mainly focus on renovations, whether that’s a kitchen, bathroom, or an office. But they still do custom home builds, which is convenient for Toronto homeowners.
But there lies the drawback as well. Unfortunately, they’re not an ideal construction company for new commercial builds, which was a bummer.
Looking on the bright side, they have interior design services. They’ll work with every aspect of the aesthetic appeal of the place without compromising functionality—pretty nice!
Mr. General Contractor & Renovations also earns our respect for providing eco-friendly solutions. That’s an admirable factor that can help clients with lower energy bills in the long run.
A downside we found, however, is they don’t have in-house general contractors. They only hire other general contractors and subcontractors for every job, which we believe may not result in consistent service quality.
