Pros
- Diverse Massage Services
- Holistic Approach
- Expert Practitioners
- Facial Acupuncture
- Direct Billing
- Wide Insurance Coverage
Cons
- Website Improvement Needed
Active Healing Massage and Wellness offers a range of massage therapies, including prenatal massages, showcasing their dedication to addressing various wellness needs.
The inclusion of acupuncture in their services adds a holistic dimension. Acupuncture is promoted not only as a pain relief method but also for balancing and restoring energy flow within the body.
The mention of Dr. Mira Lee and Dr. Troy Forest instills confidence in the expertise of the practitioners. Their utilization of traditional medicine theory and various modalities like e-stim, moxibustion, cupping, GuaSha, and auricular therapy demonstrates a commitment to a comprehensive and tailored approach.
The incorporation of facial acupuncture for treating skin issues is a unique feature. Clients looking for a combination of wellness and cosmetic benefits will find this appealing.
Active Healing Massage and Wellness simplifies the post-service process by providing direct billing through the Telus Health system. This is a convenient option, especially for clients covered by employee benefit plans.
The extensive list of insurance companies they deal with, including Cowan, SSQ, GSC Green Shield, and more, makes it likely that clients can enjoy the benefits of their services with minimal out-of-pocket expenses.
While the intention of enhancing lifestyle and health is clear, the website could benefit from improvements. It lacks detailed information on services, practitioner backgrounds, and a user-friendly interface. A more intuitive and visually appealing website would help potential clients navigate and understand the offerings better.

Pros
- Has two branches
- Has numerous bus stops nearby
- An award-winning business
Cons
- Southside branch only has roadside parking
Integrated Therapies Massage & Wellness (ITMW) is one of the pregnancy massage clinics in Edmonton with lots of awards. Its numerous recognitions, such as from Yocale, are reassuring because this means its services are above the standard.
It also has ample experience in recreational service because it’s been operating since 2015–something we like!
Aside from that, ITMW is available on weekends and has two branches–in the southern and western areas of the city. We like this because these aspects make its services accessible to many Edmontonians.
In addition, we like that ITMW’s two branches are only a few minutes away from bus stops. It’s good news for customers who prefer using public transportation to go to massage clinics.
However, it’s a letdown that its southern branch only has a roadside parking area and no designated PWD parking spot. These would cause a lot of inconvenience for clients, especially during peak business hours.
ITMW’s hourly rate for prenatal massage is $105–slightly higher than its competitors. Still, we’re glad that it’s not far from the average price in Alberta and is affordable for many.
Lastly, it’s a relief that many of ITWM”s customers enjoyed their time in the spa. Most attributed their comfortable experience because the staff are friendly, chatty, and well-versed in massage.

Pros
- In operation since 2008
- Experienced therapists
- Has ample parking space
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Has a lesser number of staff than others
- The transit stop is a bit far
What makes a business all the more reliable is its years of experience. And we’re glad that Got Knots Massage Therapy (GKMT) is there to fill this spot for Edmontonians needing a prenatal massage.
GKMT has been operational since 2008, topping other massage facilities in Edmoton. We think this noteworthy because it’s a sign that its massage services are proven and tested over time.
On the same note, its head masseuse, Nadine Munro, has been practicing since 2000, which is a relief to know because it means that the spa’s staff follows suit as a standard.
That said, we’re not surprised that GKMT’s service is well-received by many customers.
Many of the clients we spoke with commended their designated therapist’s ability to accommodate their preferred massage intensity.
We must mention, though, that its rates start at $105 per hour. Although it’s a bit higher than others, it still falls within the average hourly rate in Alberta, so it’s still affordable.
While we appreciate the CKMT has ample parking space, we think it’s a huge letdown that the nearest bus station is several minutes away. We think it would be difficult for pregnant clients to go to the clinic via public transit.
We’re also quite disappointed that GMKT is closed on weekends, which is a letdown because clients who are unoccupied on weekdays may be unable to visit and relax.
Similarly, GKMT has relatively fewer staff than its competitors. For us, this is worth noting because this would be a slight issue during peak business hours.

Pros
- Rates are a bit lower than others
- Has numerous massage promo
- Near a bus stop and ample parking space
Cons
- Has instances of appointment errors
With five branches in total, Therapeutic Body Concepts Massage (TBCM) certainly beats other clinics in Edmonton in terms of accessibility. It’s noteworthy because nothing’s better than being able to choose a clinic that is convenient to your location.
We also like that TBCM has six massage promos which are more than other spas offer. For instance, you can choose to get its 30-minute massage for only $60 if you prefer a shorter service duration.
It’s also worth highlighting that TBCM charges $100 per hour for its pregnancy massage services, which is a bit lower and more affordable than other spas in the city.

Pros
- Affordable massage rates
- Has ample parking space
- Near a bus stop
Cons
- No priority/PWD parking spots
Alberta Momentum Massage Therapy (AMMT) is one of the prenatal massage clinics with lower rates for its service. We’re glad of its $95 hourly rate because it proves that relaxation for moms could be both enjoyable and affordable.
Although its massage rates are cheaper than others, you wouldn’t worry about receiving subpar service! After all, AMMT has almost a decade of service experience since it started operations in 2015.
Besides those, we like that AMMT has ample parking space and is near a bus stop. It also has two branches in the city and is open even on Sundays — so plus points for accessibility!
However, it’s disappointing that AMMT has no designated parking spot for PWDs, pregnant women, and senior citizens. We think this would be an inconvenience, especially during peak business hours in the spa.
Nonetheless, for our surveys, we think it’s beyond reassuring to know that clients of AMMT were satisfied with the massage service they received. Some even mentioned how they appreciated the self-care massage tips that the staff shared with them.

Pros
- Specializes in prenatal massage
- Affordable massage rates
- Offers seven types of pregnancy massage
- Has ample parking space
- Near a bus station
Cons
- No other branches in Edmonton
- The clinic accepts clients on appointment-basis only
- Varying closing hours
- Has no dedicated PWD parking space
With its seven types of pregnancy massage, such as cupping, guashua, and hot stone massage, Love Within (LW) has a broader range of services than other spas in Edmonton. We love this variety because moms have more options to choose from!
Apart from that, we’re glad to share that its massage could be affordable to many because LW’s $100 per hour prenatal massage sits close to the average rate in Alberta.
However, we think it’s quite limiting that LW only has one branch. But we still appreciate its convenient location since it’s a few minutes away from bus stops.
Parking at LW would also not be a problem since it’s spacious enough for many customers. But, it’s a bit disappointing that it doesn’t have a PWD parking space because it would be inconvenient for pregnant clients during peak business hours.
And while we like that LW’s doors are open on weekends, we must note that they close much earlier than the other pregnancy spas in Edmonton.
Moreover, LW’s closing times from Mondays to Fridays are not similar each day. We consider this a letdown because it could be confusing and inconvenient for customers–especially the new ones.
LW’s business credential is also worth noting for us! It’s been around for more than seven years and is under the management of by Lorraine Winslow, a massage therapist with 13 years of massage experience.
Lastly, aside from the welcoming ambience, most of the customers we talked to liked that the therapists attune to their massage preferences. For us, this deserves a plus point because it ensures the comfort of pregnant clients.
