The 5 Best Nutritionists In Toronto

The 6 Best Nutritionists in Toronto

How We Picked

Affordability – The first factor we had to consider was how much the establishment is charging for its services. Furthermore, we also checked if the prices are reasonable for what the client is going to get.
Nutritionist – We graded each establishment based on how well on its nutritionist’s credentials, expertise, and attitude.
Programs – We wanted to see if the establishment offered enough programs to cater to different kinds of people that have different goals and needs. We also checked if the programs of the establishment had numerous inclusions based on the price range and the goal of the plan itself.
Accessibility – Last but not least, we graded each establishment based on how accessible they were in terms of their schedule and the number of registered dieticians.

Pros

  • Helmed by an expert and friendly registered dietician
  • Competitively-priced packages
  • Offers a variety of nutrition counselling packages
  • Free nutrition resources (available on their website)

Cons

  • Only has one registered dietician

Of all the places to look for a nutritionist in Toronto, we never thought we’d find a great option on Facebook. Tangible Wellness is based out in Ontario and they offer numerous nutrition counselling and coaching for clients with different kinds of needs.

Right off the bat, we appreciated the variety of their counselling packages as they’re made to custom-fit different kinds of people. One of the main concerns about nutrition is that not everyone has the same body type so to have this luxury was an immediate A for us.

Aside from their premade packages, we were also surprised to find out that they offer custom packages to meet the client’s needs.

Another thing that we loved about Tangible Wellness was that it’s run and founded by a registered dietician so we were confident that they really knew what they were doing.

What nailed our confidence in their services even further is her credentials and experience. Alia Virjee is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s degree in Science in Food and Nutrition from Western University and has over 10 years of experience in the field

The only downside with this company that we can see bothering other people is that it only has a single registered dietician.

As much as we and any other people who reviewed Tangible Wellness commend Alia, we feel like she could cater to a broader audience if more RDs would join the ship.

Nonetheless, having a single RD in their clinic didn’t hinder us from experiencing quality counselling and service. Alia was very professional and we learned a lot from her during our sessions which still benefits us to this day.

Pros

  • Wide range of Registered Dietitians
  • Convenient booking through their app
  • Dietitians are professional and are always eager to help

Cons

  • Services are a bit pricey
  • Lack of French-speaking Dietitians

Personally, we want our nutritionist to give us solutions that are geared towards our specific goals. That’s why when we saw that NutriProCan Dietitians offered various packages with some specialising in certain body types, we had to learn more about them.

Some of the packages and services they offer include but are not limited to Pediatric Nutrition, Healthy Weight Loss and Family Nutrition. They even had a Picky Eaters Program which we think parents who are having trouble feeding their children will appreciate.

What we loved about our experience with one of their RDs was their eagerness to help. For instance, they were constantly finding recipes for our meal plan that they think we would like and are beneficial based on our consultation.

We also appreciated how they explained things that would otherwise be complicated in a simple manner to help us understand better.

Speaking of RDs, NutriProCan Dietitians features several of these passionate individuals who from what we experienced and heard are reliable.

If we were to nitpick what we think could be a problem for some consumers, it would be the price of their services. They can be a bit hefty which can be a bit overwhelming, especially for those who are just about to start their health improvement journey.

Also, we feel like they could use a French-speaking Dietitian for those citizens in Canada that only speak this language.

Pros

  • 16 years working as a dietitian and weight loss coach
  • Have helped 1000s of women
  • Dense programs
  • Highly-experienced Registered Dietician
  • Convenient sessions

Cons

  • Virtual-only sessions
  • Only has one Registered Dietician

If experience is what you’re looking for in a nutritionist, we recommend Stefanie Senior. This one-woman team has over 14 years of experience under her belt and it certainly shows based on what we observed.

For starters, we immediately noticed the expertise at play when we initially inquired about her services through a “Discovery Call”. We felt that she recognised our goal as a specific thing that she needed to work on rather than give us a program that already exists.

Furthermore, we also appreciated her genuine concern for our health by being mindful of what we eat. In turn, she gave us a very detailed meal plan that we got to use for a long time.

As for its downsides, the most obvious one is that there’s only one Registered Dietician. Aside from that, the company doesn’t offer as much variety in their programs compared to other nutritionists in Toronto.

However, we felt that what it lacked in quantity is made up for by its quality. We noticed that the packages offered were extremely detailed and dense which in turn made us feel like we were being spoon fed, in a good way!

Lastly, one thing that we think may rub people the wrong way is that the company holds all its sessions online. For some, this may be the more convenient way but others may prefer to hold consultations face-to-face for a more interactive session.

Pros

  • Talented team of licensed Registered Dieticians
  • Wide array of packages and services
  • Flexible modes of counselling (phone, webcam, face-to-face)

Cons

  • Limited operating hours on Sunday

Since counselling with nutritionists naturally comes at a hefty cost, we wanted to find a clinic that’s covered by our health benefits and insurance plans. That’s why we were pleased to stumble upon Mint Nutrition Clinic which was covered by our plan provider.

One of the things that immediately caught our attention with this nutrition clinic is the vast array of packages and services they offer. Mint offers various services that tackle anything from acid reflux to diabetes, diarrhea and several other health cases.

Out of all their services, however, one that stood out the most to us was the muscle-building treatment.

Personally, we’ve always wanted to improve our bodies but have always struggled with doing it the right way. With this treatment, we were promised that we could achieve our dream bodies through the right means which included eating the right food, exercising and more.

Another thing we appreciated about Mint Nutrition Clinic is its team of licensed Registered Dieticians. The establishment had 5 RDs in total and each of them had the credibility and experience we needed to be sure of before trusting their services.

We also liked how their sessions can be done face-to-face or online which makes it great for people with different schedules.

The only thing we didn’t like about it is its limited hours on Sunday which was the only day available. Nonetheless, we still managed to appreciate everything that Mint Nutrition Clinic had to offer.

Pros

  • Stacked team of Registered Dietitians with different areas of expertise
  • Wide selection of services and packages

Cons

  • Extremely limited operating days

With an experience of over 15 years up its sleeve, it’s a no-brainer to include JM Nutrition in our recommendations for the best nutritionists in Toronto. From the get-go, we were greeted by their variety of programs with in-depth inclusions.

What we loved about this company, specifically, is how they narrowed down each program to a specific type of person. For instance, they have separate programs for men, women and children and under these categories are more options from nutrition to health and more.

By the way, it’s worth mentioning that these said programs have been curated by the same Registered Dieticians that have over 15 years of experience in the field. This made us even more confident with their services as we knew that they were experts on these matters.

Speaking of RDs, they have over 15 of these talented and passionate individuals on board with each one having their own area of expertise.

When we saw this selection of RDs, we realised that this was the foundation of their services being able to cater to various clients with different needs.

As for its downsides, we can only nitpick one but it’s a glaring problem that we see bothering several people. They are closed for the majority of the week as the establishment is only operational on Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
