They are curently offering the best prices of the year. Their starting prices are SAT at $79.99/month, LTE from $49.99, 5G from $49.99 and Fibre from $59.99.

Plus, it now offers 5G Home Internet, which is powered by Ericsson. In our books, that’s a big deal because 5G gives anyone the ability to use fast speeds from 100 Mbps to beyond.

But it’s still a new service, so it may be a while before the 5G can reach your area. Still, that’s a big improvement that other internet providers can follow and rural communities can anticipate.

They offer Satellite internet packages for as low as $79.99 monthly, which comes with a WiFi router! That will give you a max download speed of up to 25 Mbps.

At present, they are offering low promotional pricing and no contracts. But you can try their service, such as the upcoming Jupiter 3 satellite which will offer speeds up to 100 Mbps, and cancel anytime.

Additionally, we like that they offer other flexible packages for different budgets and households. The add-ons are also affordable, like the Whole Home Wi-Fi, to cover the dead spots in your home.

Some of these are the basic internet package which is suitable for light internet users with basic browsing and email needs. The standard internet package that is designed for moderate internet users who engage in streaming, online gaming, and regular browsing.

Apart from these, they also offer premium internet package that is geared towards heavy internet users, including those who stream high-definition videos, engage in online gaming, and rely on cloud-based applications. And business internet package that is tailored specifically for businesses, providing reliable and high-speed internet connectivity.

We also think it’s worth mentioning that Xplore has a large coverage area in Canada. They can reach many rural areas, which we commend because not many can give high-speed internet in remote parts of the country.

Lastly, some rural areas have spotty connections, which isn’t good for the price you’re paying. But for others, their connections are stable!

Telus is one of the largest internet providers in Canada, which is an impressive feat. The coverage area is large as well, but like others, there are still limited locations.

One of the things we like is their high monthly data limit. It’s up to 500 GB, which is higher than some internet services for rural areas in Canada.

In addition to that, you can get up to 100 Mbps download speed, which, again, is higher than others. We were shocked because that’s a fast internet connection for remote areas!

However, speedy internet comes with a high price. We found Telus rural area plans more expensive, starting at $90 a month.

But that’s only for a 25 Mbps download speed. If you want up to 100 Mbps, that will cost you $130! It also locks you in for two years, which is unfortunate if you’re unhappy with the service.

It’s also unfortunate that there are areas with sporadic connections. It’s a problem, sadly, especially for remote areas in the country.

On a good note, your first 24 months with Telus give you unlimited data. Plus, this is already powered by a 5G network!

Then again, this comes with an additional payment of $15 monthly for the router for the first two years. But you do get to keep it after (you paid for it already, anyway).

Lastly, the TELUS Smart Hub internet plans are compatible with their SmartHome Security Systems in selected areas. It’s a safe option allowing you to monitor your home or business.

Elon Musk’s Starlink has been one of the most anticipated internet services in rural areas in Canada. He is a visionary, after all, despite some… uh… controversial moments.

One of the most impressive things about Starlink is it delivers internet from the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low-Earth orbit. This means it can provide high-speed internet and process data quickly due to low latency! 

Starlink is easy to install, and the minimalist (and futuristic) design doesn’t hurt. It will tilt on its own and look for a connection, which, honestly, is pretty interesting to watch.

There’s also a Starlink Roam plan, which we really like because you can bring it with you wherever you go. That’s perfect for vacations and for families living on the road.

But you should know it’s expensive in Canada, and most places, actually. You need to shell out $140 a month!

In addition to that, you must pay a hefty fee for the hardware to get your internet connection. It’s currently on sale for $199 for some of Canada’s rural areas, but the regular price is a whopping $759!

That doesn’t include service tax, shipping, and handling, by the way. For us, those are ridiculously high upfront fees!

On the positive side, the Starlink hardware can survive harsh winds in Canada as long as it’s properly secured. With that price, it should!

However, the speed performance can still vary depending on the weather. Winters and icy temperatures can still result in sporadic connections.

It’s also worth noting that you’re not stuck in a contract. There’s a 30-day trial, too, so you can return the hardware and get a full refund!

On a good day, it can reach 50 Mbps to 150 Mbps! We’re not going to lie, Starlink does deliver high internet speed (with unlimited data, too!), but it still comes with some hiccups.

If you’re looking for an affordable internet plan in rural Canada, you may want to check out Bell. It also covers a vast area, which isn’t surprising since it’s one of the largest internet providers in Canada.

One of our favourite aspects about Bell is the affordable internet packages. You can sign up for unlimited usage for as low as $50 a month for one year.

But that price will change to $100 a month after your first 12 months. Still, it’s more affordable than other internet providers in Canada.

We also like that all their internet packages come with a Home Hub. It’s basically the router, which others require you to pay a separate fee.

But we were saddened at their limited internet plans for rural areas in the country. There are only 25 Mbps and 50 Mbps, and we feel they need to upgrade since they’re one of the biggest internet services here.

On the upside, new customers (and accounts with good standing) will get Bell’s 4-pack WiFi pod. It can boost your connection in every room since walls can affect WiFi signals.

Although, you need to be ready for the price to change back to $10 per month anytime during your subscription. But it’s a good option if you have a large property since you can rent up to 14 WiFi pods.

Sadly, there have been reports of slow speed at random times. It was disappointing since they’re one of the internet providers in Canada that can reach many rural areas.

An internet service provider in Canada providing affordable packages is Rogers. We appreciate the flexible plans, allowing households with different budget ranges to subscribe to their service.

One of the reasons why they’re affordable is because of the special offers you can avail. But the lowest regular rate is $94.99 a month, giving you up to 25 Mbps.

Additionally, their Ignite Internet plans come with unlimited usage of up to 450 GB. After that, you will get a download speed of 10 Mbps.

Although the price might sound expensive, it’s pretty affordable, considering you get unlimited usage. You also won’t see that frequently in internet services in the region.

If the speed isn’t enough for you, you can opt for the 50 Mbps plan at $149.99 a month. However, this is available in selected areas only.

Frankly, we were a bit disappointed that they have limited internet plans for rural areas in Canada. Besides that, their highest speed isn’t available in many areas.

On a good note, you aren’t required to commit to a contract. That earns points from us because you won’t feel restricted if you decide to switch to a different internet provider.

Another aspect we appreciate is that Rogers provides seasonal deals. Currently, they offer a 6-month subscription to Disney+ for new subscribers!

It’s just saddening that they have limited coverage areas in the country. Here’s to hoping they can expand for more affordable internet plan options!
