The 5 Best Dietitians in Winnipeg

The 5 Best Dietitians in Winnipeg

  • Qualifications – We checked their team's credentials and experience, given that they handle a person’s health and nutrition.
  • Nutrition and diet plan – The expert's approach to crafting suitable nutritional and diet plans for their clients matters, so we checked out this aspect.
  • Availability and scheduling – We chose companies that can accommodate their clients on time, have flexible schedules, and handle each client session efficiently.
  • Track record – We selected chiropractors with a track record of effective plans and successful results.
  • Client care – It’s crucial to address clients with proper courtesy and acknowledge any concerns involving their services or other concerns.
  • Price – We listed companies with reasonable rates, considering the type of session or package availed.

It’s important to be conscious of what we eat and drink because our body turns it into the energy and nutrition we need. That’s why an imbalanced diet can negatively affect your well-being and bodily functions.

On that note, a suitable nutrition plan can also help you get on top of your health conditions and concerns. To help you in this journey, we picked the best dietitians in Winnipeg just for you!

Pros

  • Offers free phone consultation
  • Has free nutritional learning
  • Provides direct billing
  • Works on all ages
  • Not pushy and overwhelming

Cons

  • Slightly pricier than competitors

A Little Nutrition has surprisingly made big changes to the overall health and diet of their clients — the good kind of change.

We like that they cater to all ages, from infants to adults to seniors. Moreover, we appreciate how they consider every aspect of your diet instead of just handing you a meal plan and saying do this and don’t do that.

To put into perspective, the dietitians review your current eating pattern based on your health goals or concerns and put forward some recommendations you can implement.

It’s also a plus in our books that they have therapists to help you with your psychological and mental wellness, especially for those with eating disorders.

And don’t worry about getting told to only eat a bland piece of chicken breast since they provide cooking tips, meal prep guidance, recipe modifications, and snack ideas.

Although given their priority on assessments and sessions, we noticed that their counselling sessions are slightly pricier than other companies.

So, we suggest you contact your insurance provider and ask if your insurance can cover your dietitian sessions, and relay this to the company since they provide direct billing.

Should you consider A Little Nutrition, we encourage you to avail their free phone consultation and make those 15 minutes worthwhile.

Lastly, we like that their dietitians are not pushy and overwhelming, establishing a safe and non-judgmental space.

Pros

  • Has a food and fitness app
  • Offers a free 7-day meal plan
  • Has group fitness classes
  • Offers online sessions and services
  • Affordable rates

Cons

  • Does not focus on infant and children nutrition
  • Services are not applicable with most insurance

Infinity Nutrition & Health Coaching is an all-woman team of nutritionists, personal trainers, and health coaches to cater to nutrition, fitness and wellness needs.

What we like most about their operations is that they provide online sessions and services; thus, you could start your health journey in the comfort of your home.

For instance, some clients who live in rural areas have opted to settle with online sessions and were satisfied with the fruits of their interactions. And you won’t catch yourself slacking since they check in every week to keep you accountable for your journey.

On top of this, Infinity Nutrition & Health Coaching has a $3/month food and fitness app that provides hundreds of nutritious recipes that are easy to make, time efficient, and delicious. Plus, they regularly add new recipes to the database, so you’ll never get bored of healthy eating!

Although, we’re quite bummed that they don’t focus and specialize on infant and children nutrition.

Just a heads up, many insurance providers don’t usually cover the services offered by this company. This is because they mostly concentrate on fitness rather than solely on dietetics.

On the bright side, they have competitive rates, and you can even have a one-hour initial consultation for just $49. And you can even get a sneak peek by availing their free seven-day meal plan via their website.

3. Best You Nutrition

Pros

  • Affordable 3 and 6-month programs
  • Highly personalized
  • Available 24 hours a day
  • Friendly and motivational
  • Effective and successful outcomes

Cons

  • No physical establishment
  • Na face-to-face sessions
  • Does not focus on children nutrition

What impresses us about Best You Nutrition is its high success rate for clients with diverse health concerns and goals.

Just to give an idea, many clients are relieved after their programs, like enjoying lesser joint pains, weight loss, and increased energy. Most clients choose to keep going, while others establish a comfortable nutritional routine — either way, it’s still a win.

On that note, we like that they offer affordable three and six-month programs that involve 6 and 12 sessions, respectively. It costs $975 for three months and $1,600 for six, and we think this is quite the steal, considering how successful their sessions and nutritional plans are.

It’s also admirable that they are available 24 hours, so you can still contact them between sessions if you have any concerns or need support. And we’re glad that their dietitian holds you accountable, which is what most of us need.

But we think it’s a shame that they don’t have a physical office and don’t hold face-to-face sessions, especially if you’re someone who prefers it that way.

We also noticed that they mostly address nutrition for adults and not much for your kids.

Nonetheless, we recommend Best You Nutrition to help you cement new eating habits and tackle health conditions in the comfort of your home.

Pros

  • Offers free phone consultations
  • Provides detailed and tailored meal plans
  • Flexible pricing
  • Knowledgeable and thorough

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Does not do direct billing
  • All sessions are only held virtually

Tenille Sonnichsen, Registered Dietitian, specializes in providing services for meal planning, weight management, cardiovascular health and more.

For us, she is highly knowledgeable and informative about the science behind our bodies and food. That said, many clients have praised her for helping them have a better understanding of what they eat and answering every question they have.

We’re also impressed with how she comes up with meal plans and recipes that you’ll be encouraged to use since they’re tailored to your needs and — as much as possible — your taste, too!

Another thing we like is that once you start with the program, you also get to enjoy unlimited support between consultations, so you’re never left feeling lost between sessions. You don’t have to hold back with your “Is eating this a good idea?” questions.

And if you’re interested in working with Tenille, you can book a 30-minute phone consultation at no cost to see how she can help and if the two of you are a good fit.

Although just to let you know, the services are only held virtually through a private client portal, which can be a deal-breaker for some.

On a positive note, they have affordable and flexible rates since packages are customized after speaking with you to ensure you get the best support, followed by a detailed breakdown.

Pros

  • Offers a free initial assessment
  • Has a GFIT app
  • Does weekly check-ins
  • Provides holistic options

Cons

  • Can improve personalization of meal plan
  • Slightly pricier than competitors
  • Requires a 4-month minimum commitment
  • Closed on weekends

GFIT Wellness offers customized health solutions for individuals and companies through meal planning, health and fitness and mindset coaching and more.

We like that GFIT has a diverse team of experts to focus not only on physical health but also on mental and emotional health.

Notably, they have worked with clients with various illnesses, from cancer to auto-immune diseases to people who suffered life-altering injuries and accidents.

Based on our research, we commend them for prioritizing weekly check-ins. They assess your progress and how you’re feeling and provide tips and guidance on overcoming any obstacles you’re facing to keep you on track.

It’s also a plus in our books that you get to use their app and have access to recipes, workout videos and other guides.

Although, we feel a bit iffy that you’re required to commit to at least a four-month program to get started. And we also noticed that they’re pricier than their competitors.

In addition, we think they need to improve the personalization of their meal plans since multiple clients have claimed that they only received basic meal plans that were the same as others.

Regardless, we believe GFIT Wellness is a one-stop shop for nutrition, wellness and fitness programs.
