Pros
- Convenient location
- Provides dental benefits to UWinipeg students
- Has a multilingual staff
- Provides financing option
Cons
- No emergency services
- Some chairs were uncomfortable
Downtown Dental Group is conveniently located across from the University of Winnipeg, primarily serving students and professionals. They are open five days a week, and you can even pop by during lunchtime!
We like that they specialize in dental implants. But they also offer a wide range of services, such as general, cosmetic, and preventive dentistry.
Currently, they have two dentists on board. Both are highly experienced, ensuring each patient that comes in is in good hands!
Their staff impressively speak other languages, which is helpful for international students! Aside from English and French, some speak Spanish, Russian, Tagalog, Ukrainian, and Hebrew.
We appreciate their flexible payment options via WayDent, which we think are great for students and professionals alike! They do accept insurance claims as well.
Additionally, we were happy to discover that full-time students of the University of Winnipeg (UWinnipeg) are qualified for up to $500 of dental benefits annually! That’s highly useful!
One of our favourite aspects is the comfortable atmosphere of the clinic. Downtown Dental Group has large windows to see the university right across—it can entertain you if you’re anxious about getting dental implants.
But we noticed some furniture and seats might need replacing because they were slightly uncomfortable.
Another downside we found is they don’t have emergency services. That was a bummer for patients with toothache.

Pros
- Open six days a week
- Accepts evening appointments
- Provides emergency services
- Has an on-site lab
Cons
- Instances of long waiting time
- Some complaints about appointment issues
Operating six days a week, Garden City Dental Centre is located at Leila Avenue, just across a residential area. They are available for evening appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and have emergency services! Nice!
Most dental implant procedures require sedation; that’s why we appreciate the free parking. Patients usually come with a companion, so the parking is useful.
One of their specializations is dental implants. Although, they offer a variety of services including cosmetic dentistry, family dentistry, root canal therapy, and Invisalign.
A convenient aspect is they have an on-site lab. The benefit of that is they can make or replace your dental product, resulting in reduced waiting times!
Additionally, we like that they have a pretty big dental team compared to other clinics in Winnipeg. Most are available for evening appointments if you’re busy with work or school.
We were glad they could offer solutions to anxious patients undergoing dental implants. The clinic offers nitrous oxide for sedation dentistry, which only takes 20 seconds to take effect.
As for insurance claims, we appreciate they provide direct billing to reduce paperwork for clients. Plus, they have financing options available for affordability.
There have been reports of some waiting time at the clinic despite an appointment, a minor downside. We were also told some complaints about customer service regarding appointment bookings—glad it seems to have improved!

Pros
- Open daily
- West Kildonan clinic is open daily
- Has a multilingual staff
- Provides sinus lift surgery for dental implants
Cons
- Service quality differs per location
- Instances of long waiting time
A highly accessible dental clinic in Winnipeg is Greenwoods Dental & Surgical Centres. They conveniently have five locations in Winnipeg!
Their availability is worth noting because their West Kildonan location is open seven days a week—sometimes even on statutory holidays. Other clinic branches are closed on Sundays, though.
In addition to that, we admire that the dental team and staff are multilingual, so there are no language barriers! They speak English, Korean, Tagalog, Farsi, and Punjabi.
They have a wide range of services, from implants to Invisalign to laser dentistry! They are available for checkups and cleaning, too.
Aside from implant dentistry, we want to highlight that they offer sinus lift surgery for dental implants. It’s suitable for patients who don’t have enough bone support in their top jaw.
Moreover, we appreciate that anxious patients can receive a relaxation service before surgery. Greenwoods Dental & Surgical Centres offers laughing gas, deep intravenous sedation, and general anesthesia.
A downside we found is the service quality will differ depending on the clinic location. Some clients reported that they didn’t receive a welcoming service from the staff.
Also, there were instances of long waiting times. Some had waited over half an hour before seeing a dentist.

Pros
- Open since 1977
- Has emergency services
- Provides All-on-4 dental implant technique
Cons
- Reports of incorrect or moved appointments
- Expensive prices
In 1977, Lakewood Dental Centre was founded. The founders, who remain dentists at the clinic to this day, have decades of experience. That clearly impressed us!
Their clinic is open five days a week, with extended hours on certain days. They are closed on weekends, though.
For decades, they have provided cosmetic, family, and restorative dentistry in Winnipeg. They have sedation dentistry for nervous patients, which we appreciate.
One of their standout services is their All-on-4 dental implant technique. It’s where the upper or lower arch of teeth is replaced with four implants, which can be done in just one day!
Moreover, this implant technique is low maintenance and durable. Plus, it doesn’t need modification of the surrounding teeth.
We appreciate that they are available for dental emergencies. They can sometimes squeeze you in for an appointment on the same day.
There’s ample parking in front of their clinic for your companion, too. That’s useful since dental implants will require some sort of anesthesia.
A drawback is there were some reported problems with incorrect and moved appointment times. Some had theirs moved on the day they arrived at the clinic—a few clients had to wait for weeks for the new appointment.
We also heard that they charge more expensive rates than other dental implant clinics in Winnipeg. That’s unfortunate since some insurance companies don’t cover dental implants.

Pros
- Accepts dental emergencies
- Convenient location
- Offers short-term payment plans
- Offers All-on-4 dental implants
Cons
- Needs a different clinic for dental implant placement
- Instances of incorrect appointment bookings
Windsor Park Dental is open five days a week, located at Elizabeth Road. What we like about the clinic’s location is the ample parking space in front, which benefits clients coming in with companions.
They do cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, periodontal disease, restorations, and laser dentistry. We were quite impressed with the many procedures they offer.
One of them is dental implants, and they offer All-on-4, multiple tooth, and single tooth. However, there’s a downside because they require the patient to visit an oral surgeon at a different clinic for dental implants.
Moreover, they cannot do the 3D scan and place the dental implants at their clinic. That’s a bit of a bummer.
On a positive note, they accept dental emergencies for single-day crowns and toothaches. Not all clinics in Winnipeg have emergency services, so this earns them points from us!
They also provide direct billing to insurance. For patients without insurance, the staff can arrange short-term payment plans, a service we appreciate for clients with limited budgets.
Based on our client surveys, there were instances of incorrect appointment bookings due to system glitches. Some patients had to leave despite arriving at the clinic at the confirmed date.
Nevertheless, we admire that the staff can mostly arrange quick schedules for new and existing patients. Some even had next-day appointments!
